A few days ago I decided to dye my hair,So I bought a bottle of Herbal Essence #40. I did the skin test and nothing happened. Well, the next day I developed hives on my neck from it. Day after that I was at work and my face swelled up over 2x its natual size.

I got cotton mouth and my through was getting tight. I left work and went to the ER asap. At the hospital I was pumped with many medications through IV. And now I have to take steriods 3x a day to reduce the swelling (Which is still very much there).

I called their 800# tonight to find out the ingrediants since I dont have the box anymore, the first guy I got was very rude,he laughed at me and was mocking me as I told him about this horrible expierance I went through, all he kept saying to me was "Theres no amonia in it" which I never asked. So I called back and got someone else, she was nice but she informed me that she wasnt aloud to give me the ingrediants over the phone and that I had to buy another box of it to find out what was in it.

Im not saying that this will do it to you,but please read the back of the box and find out if you are allergic to anything in it,because this is a horrible expierance to go through. And dont count on their customer service to help you any!

Self Dye Jobs Never A Good Idea, Leave It To The Pros

#2Consumer Suggestion

Unless it is henna, or another 100% natural product (this means absolutely no chemicals, DON'T even think about dying or coloring your own hair. You wouldn't fix your own transmition would you? Well, you might if you were qualified to do so. A botched hair job could cost hundreds of dollars for color correcting, even then, though your color is corrected, your hair is still damaged by your own hand.

Hairdressers are pros. They study chemicals and hair textures. Do people really think Heather Locklear uses Clairol on her hair?
