Complaint Review: Classic Roofing & Construction

This company came to my door offering their services after a hail storm, little did I know it was a typical door to door insurance scam. The very pushy salesman (Mark) came to my home, explained the process or so what I thought and had me sign off on a contract without explaining or me being able to review the ridiculous terms. I fully reviewed the contract after he left my home and realized it screamed SCAM. They wanted me to turn over all checks to them prior to any work starting etc etc.

I decided this company was not a company I was comfortable with working on my home. The following day which was a Sunday, I left a voicemail telling Mark, I did not want to proceed with them what so ever on this contract's terms. I also decided to cover my bases and mail a letter as well since I was within the cancellation time frame and no work had commenced. I informed the company I would like pictures and an estimate and that I was going to look into other companies as well and review all my options before committing to any company.

It is of course my right to be comfortable with who is making repairs to my home and also explore all options available. I never received an estimate or any additional information. I continued to receive pushy and rude calls from the company. Then one day the salesman showed up at my home unannounced (no telling how many times he had dropped in prior), pushing us into giving him the insurance checks etc.

Mind you still to this day I had never received any information on costs or what would be done at my property. He was also driving a white, unmarked car with paper license plate....FISHY.... I informed the salesman he could provide us with a estimate, instead he stated he could come by and meet with my finance the next day and go over everything. We waited at home and he did not arrive at the scheduled window he gave us, yet I continued to receive daily calls. STILL NO ESTIMATE NO EMAILS NO PICTURES ETC.

I think at this point straight harassment as I owe nothing to this company nor do I plan on even having them as an option now. I would not hand over any money to a company with these tactics or shady practices. I finally received a voicemail from a man named E from their office, threatening collections and a lien on my home. This shady contract was cancelled, I called back and of course he claims they never received my letter and they need to pick up payment.

I stated no that wasn't going to happen and explained all the reason why and my issues with the company. He argued and stated I will be sent to collections and a lien will be filed. COULD THEIR COLLECTIONS BE WORSE?? I owe this company nothing as no work has been done on my home not even an estimate provided or details of repairs. The only work they have done is harass me and try to push me into using their company for my repairs.

I just had a newborn, surgery, back to school, back to work and a death in my family, they have absolutely no regard to anything other than collecting a check that doesn't belong to them. Their contract states nothing about a deadline of having these repairs done etc. so even if I was under contract... how do they have the right to force me to proceed at any point. I have spoke to my insurance company and they have no time frame set on me so how should this company first of all be able to deny my cancellation of this ridiculous contract but then try to force me into running through my repairs.

Simply facts, long story short: I cancelled with this company for many reasons, they refuse to even admit that they know I didn't want to move forward or even claim they received the letter, yet I continue to be harassed. I OWE THEM NO MONEY AS NO WORK HAS BEEN PREFORMED AND WOULD NEVER TRUST THEM TO DO ANY WORK ON MY HOME. I have never encountered such a horrible way to force people into using your company.
