Classic Tent Rentals & Party Supplies ripoff, poor customer service, rude workers and owner, almost ruined my wedding Freeport Pennsylvania

My future husband and I were planning an outside wedding, so we rented 2 tents off of the Classic Tent Rental company. We needed the tents put up and taken down in the same day, they agreed to do this, but for an extra fee of $90. They were to come to the wedding site at 8 am to set up the tents and come back later on that same day at 8 pm to take down the tents (wedding was in a park, we were to be out of there by 9pm).

On the wedding day they did not arrive until 10:30 to set up the tents, apparently the 2 boys were lost. We had called the company several times to ask where were they, we got no answer, finally one of the drivers called our cell phone to ask us for directions, but by the time they arrived it was 10:30, it took them another 30 minutes to set up the tents, so there we were waiting for 3 hours, we were behind in decorating, we were behind in everything, we had to put the tables and chairs under the tents, we were being rushed for time because this company was 3 hours late.

Before the 2 boys left, they were reminded that they had to come back at 8 pm, the one boy said he knew about it, but it would be another man coming tonight.

Well, 8 pm came, no tent people, at almost 9pm, my mother gets a call on her cell phone from the tent company, the man said that they were in the middle of a softball game and they would not come until tomorrow and pick the tents up! My mother said no, they have to be picked up tonight because that was the agreement and plus we were to vacate the park by 9pm!

The man came, it was around 9:30 when he showed up, he was very rude to my mother when he did arrive finally - we have never recieved an apology from this company.

Well, another thing was the bill we recieved in the mail prior to our wedding, it did not charge us for the delivery fees, so we payed the amount that was listed on the bill. 2 weeks after the wedding, we kept getting phone calls demanding the $90, then they started sending us bills in the mail.

My husband and I told this woman on the phone that we felt that we should not have to pay this fee 'cause they were late both times, she was very rude, she did not care that they were late and almose ruined my wedding day, she stated "you used the tents didnt you!", she also called us liars and said that there was NO record on her drivers being late and no record of us calling them.

She began to threaten us by saying she would take us to court if we did not pay this money, I asked her again why was it okay that they were late, we should not have to pay this, she was very rude - I would not recommend this company to anyone - dont be fooled by what they say on their website:

"As customers you are the most vital part of the survival of any business and because of this we feel that you deserve to be treated with the utmost respect, courtesy and the greatest service possible."

Well, after the arguement ended, I looked for the original bill they sent us (which we paid that), I could not find it to prove that we were not charged for any other fees, I figured if we went to court, I did not have that proof of bill, so I was afraid of loosing and then oweing more than $90, so my wonderful mother thought the same thing and she is going to pay it - even though I know what they are doing to us is wrong.

PLEASE do not do any business with Classic Tent Rentals from Freeport.

Incorrect customer information

On 6/2/05 Ryan received a call. I am part owner of the company. All information about the tents was given with the price of a 20x20 Canopy and a 20x30 Canopy tent including the stripe colors available and a $45.00 delivery fee to the location. I explained that there would be a pick-up fee and that I would call him back to give him that information. He responded with his phone number and stated to tell Brenda his bride to be.
After checking with the other partner it was decided that a $45.00 after 5PM fee. I called and got and answering machine and I left a detailed message regarding the after hour pick-up fee.
On 6/6/05 my office manager received a call from Ryan to place an order but Ryan told her that there would be NO DELIVERY FEE, AND NO AFTER HOUR PICK-UP FEE PER THE OWNER. She assumed that the customer would not have lied, put the order in and sent out the order in the mail. Later on that day I reported in and was reviewing orders from that day and noticed his order. I went directly to my phone memo pad and explained to the manager that Ryan was already quoted prices for the delivery and after hour pick-up fee. She immediately called Ryan, in my presence and told him of the previously discussed fees.
We hold orders for customer for 5 days only to give them time to send in a 20 % deposit, which again was explained over the phone, and on the rental agreement that they received. No deposit was received by 6/11/05 per our policy.
A check was received on 6/17/05; by I am assuming her parents for the amount of $296.80.
Our order had times for delivery of set-up at 9 AM and teardown @ 8:30 PM.
Brenda states that they called the office that morning to see where our delivery guys were. I the owner was answering calls that day and NO CALL WAS RECEIVED BY THEM THAT DAY. We even have caller ID so that we can return calls if someone hangs-up on the machine. On the answering machine an emergency cell phone is stated for emergency use. That again was my phone and no calls were received on it either. There are several places in the park that the tent could be delivered and set up. Our drivers called them to find the exact location. Our crew leader put the 2-tents up to their satisfaction. Final payment was due at set-up. No payment was available to them. The pick-up was done @ 9:15PM The other owner did call and even stated that they could leave that we not hold them responsible for the 15 minutes it would be left unattended. The owner also did the pick and therefore would never treat someone rudely.
6/20/05 Final Bill sent out with the balance due. NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER.
6/28/05 Call made to customer left messages on answering machine to return call to discuss
final bill. NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER.
7/30/05 Resent final bill with Late fee $20.00 and again NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER.
8/30/05 there should have been another late fee applied, but we did not apply it. We kept trying to call to speak to someone continuously received the answering machine.
9/8/05 Called again left message on machine, Ryan Called back explained the balance Due and when would we receive payment he stated he's not going to pay it because we didn't show on time or pick-up on time. I apologized several times and took $20.00 off the bill. He still refused to pay. I stated, that was fine we would just have to go to the magistrate to get it straightened out. He said, "fine you can do that."
Approximately 10-15 minutes later Brenda called spoke with the office manager who then extended another $20.00 off her bill for the inconvenience.
Brenda still did not feel that she needed to pay delivery fees and the point is that we did deliver and we did pick-up. Brenda stated she would get back with us about the issue.
Approx. 30 min Brenda's mother calls now we have dealt with 3 people over a delivery and pick-up fee. Instead of $90.00 we are now trying to accommodate them even more by only requesting $71.12. The mother said "send me the bill and I will pay it" And they still aren't happy. AND WHO PLANS A WEDDING IN 3 WEEKS USING BLUE AND WHITE STRIPED CANOPY TENTS ANYWAY!
