Ordered a off frame modular from this yahoos. Well when it arrived to our lot it came with the wrong color siding, wrong flooring, no jetted tub, no double oven, etc. Well the flooring was replaced but installed incorrectly with transition strips throughout the home so the floor looks terrible. Driveway that was cut in by the grading contractor was done half a** now we have a hard time getting in and out of driveway period. No culvert was installed so it is washing away all of gravel down into the main road. Countertops and Cabinets are coming apart. I was told they would warranty everything for a year well i have even been here a year yet. Im a Veteran of Iraq and just returned from a deployement when i bought my family this home. I used my VA loan to get my wife the home she always wanted and this is the appreciation that they show to their veterans. Took the the 175,000 and fan from the closing. The final punch list hasnt even been completed. So do not buy anything from these yahoos.

The Center for Public Integrity just publishedcan article about Clayton Homes as well as its mortgage subsidiaries, Vanderbilt and 21st Mortgage:

http://www.publicintegrity.org/2015/04/03/17024/warren-buffetts-mobile-home-empire-preys-poor

You might email the authors with your experiences.

I would also suggest that you go write to the top and write to Clayton's owner, Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, as Mr Buffett himself may not be aware of these issues: Berkshire Hathaway, 3555 Farnham St., Omaha NE 68131.
