I am a single mom raising 3 children when I bought my Mobile home in 2001. I found a 4 bedroom and I feel in love with it. This was my first home. When they hooked the water up it was backwards.Every time you sat on the toilet it was steamed cleaned(meaning the hot water was hooked up to the toilet. It took Clayton Homes 2 weeks to send someone out. It also took them 1 month to put my skirting on. I bought my home in Nov/Dec of 2001 so it was chilly so my home was not able to stay warm because the cold air was coming through the floor. Before I even bought my home before I signed the loan papers I had lots of questions to ask because this is my first home. Of them was " if I fall behind on payments will I be able to defer my payments" the answer to the question was Yes you will. I started falling behind on my payments in 2004/05 Due to lay off, medical and etc. I called Vanderbilt to ask for that deferment and they told me that they do not do that. I asked If I could refinance my loan they said they do not do that either. My experience with buying my first home was horrible. I lost my home in 2006. They Repo it.
