I was in the market to buy a home to put on my 5.71 acres of land, and solicit Clayton Homes for the purchase of one of thier homes to do so. However, in the process of them following through on this, they wanted to pay off the remaining amount owed on the land we were making payments on.

Clayton told us that they would pay off the land, sat up homes, and then combine both to make one mortgage payment.

They did not disclosed that they were in fact the owner and contractor, and they entity that would be the sole owner of the contract. They led us to beleive that there was a seperate finance company, and they had to be
paid off in order to give us the keys. I consulted with a lawyer and to find out not only was they in charge of the land contract, but also the people who would be financing the home and the company who would be holding the deed to our land and the home they sat up on the land.

After months of waiting, the company declined the final phrase of the contracts, They did not tell us if they pay off the land, and sit the home on our land, after telling us everything was fine, and we could close within the week, that the comute from my job to my place of stay, and they place in which I vested much time and sweat and money into that they would decine me because of the distance from my job to my home. There was not a question wether this was my primary place of residence, because I told time in the documentation that the finance officer requested, and made it very clear that this is my final place of stay, and the home I wanted to make my retirement home.

Now Clayton have their home on my land, and theatining forclosure. I do not feel that this is fare, and something should be done about them just coming in, taking hard earned money, land, and thinking that I just suppose to walk away!
