Upon leaving a detailed review of my experience with Dr. Tanner through Yelp.com, I received a response from him that was written in a manner that no business professional should ever use. His bitterness was aparent, and, in his obviously angry state, he determined that it would suit everyone to know my personal information including my insurance plan and necessary treatment.

I feel that this is a total violation of my privacy. If I had wanted that information disclosed and on the internet for all eyes to see, I would have done it myself. I do not appreciate how he treated me while I was a patient, and I appreciate it even less now that I have discontinued going to his office for treatment.

I don't know what made me curious about your post, but I followed your link to yelp.com and read it.  The dentist's reply was neither unprofessional nor rude, and he didn't violate any real privacy except to mention the name of your insurance carrier.  My daughter recently had her wisdom teeth pulled, and the fees (and insurance payment) were comparable to what you quoted.

And no, I don't know this dentist.

No ripoff here...
