Hello, we are victims of hurrican IKE, from Crystal Beach, Texas. In October of 2008 Carl E. Click owner of Click Construction Inc. from Vero Beach Florida arrived at our property along with the Texas Windstorm adjuster.

Carl Click looked at the damage to our home and stated that he would repair our home from the bottom plate up for the full insurance allowance from Texas Windstorm insurance. We signed a contract for this agreement.

In December 2008, we recieved money from our insurance company. On December 17, 2008 I gave Larry Pyatt a cashiers check in the amount of $12,500 dollars to start replacing the roof.

Carl Click had informed me that he and his partners were staying in the Houston area do to the lack of vacancies in our area. He also stated that he was turning my job over to his partners Larry Pyatt and Charlie Hoskins because he was doing jobs in the Houston area.

In January Click Construction removed all of the old shingles from my roof and they removed four feet of sheet rock from the inside of the house. Larry Pyatt was ordering the materials for my roof, but he said he was having a hard time finding the right color of metal roof that I wanted.

In February I contacted Larry Pyatt to get an update on my roof. Larry told me that the materials had been ordered and that they should arrive in a couple of weeks. He asked me for more money, stating that the cost of the roofing materials is going to be $14,000 dollars and that labor for installation would be $3,000 to $4,000 dollars.

On March 7, we gave Larry another $6,000 dollars to cover materials and labor. He told me that the materials had arrived but the company sent the wrong materials so they had to reorder.

In April I contacted Larry Pyatt. He said that they had been very busy with other jobs, but they would be starting on my house in five days. That was the last time I heard from Larry Pyatt. He will not answer my calls or return my calls that I leave on his voice mail.

I contacted Carl Click around the third week of April to find out what is going on with the repairs to my house. He said that he did not know. I asked him about Larry Pyatt, because Larry will not return my phone calls. He said that he thinks Larry is back in Florida. I asked him about the money that I gave them for materials and labor, and he told me that it was gone. He had no remorse about it nor did he offer to return any of the money. He stated that he could take over the job to repair my house, but he wanted to get paid for any work that he did.

I contacted Charley Hoskins, the other partner who was working with Larry Pyatt. He told me the same thing, that Larry was back in Florida. I asked him about the work to my house, and he said he did not know anything about it. I asked him about the money that I gave them. He said that he did not know that I had given Click Construstion $18,500 dollars and that he thought that they were still waiting for the money before they could start the job. I tried to contact Charlie about a week later, but he will not answer the phone or return my phone calls.

If anyone has information or bad dealings with this company or these three people please email me at (((email redacted))). Thank you Ripoff Report.

Warrant Issued

Salve,

Not sure where you are on your case, but there is a warrant for Carl's arrest that has been issued in Hernando County Florida. You can get public court records on line to get that information.

This has gotten pretty big here in Florida and also was reported on ABC news here regarding Carls business associates being arrested in Florida for Organized Fraud...if you are still trying to get somewhere on your case, Contact the Hernando County Prosecutors office and ask for the prosecutor handling the Carl Click/Click Construction case and Contorno case, see if they can help you. I know you are out of state but getting the information into the correct hands and letting them know you are a victim of this company too can only help. But they also may be able to provide information to be able to help you there in Texas.

Click Construction/Click Construction of Tampa Bay/Clicks Construction

I don't personally know this Carl Click or Larry Pyatt or Click Construction personally, nor have I done any business with them, I am not here to say they are good or bad company to deal with, I just did public records searches to check out this company, I can't find much on Carl or Larry, didn't look to hard. I can not contest to his business or them personally.

I can tell you what public records show, what I did find out through public records is that this Carl Click has an agreement with Another individual to allow him to work construction under his license in Pinellas County, Florida, I think the term is normally used to "qualify" a contractor that does not have a license in a state? The other guy then went setup another similair company name: Click Construction of Tampa Bay or sometimes filed as Click's Construction, Clicks Construction, different variations. All this can be verified through the BBB (there is 2 companies out there simular names, same license number) this also can be verified through the Florida Corporations website and Court records in Pinellas and Pasco County, searches under company names and individuals names. The guy who he is allowing to work under his license has criminal records, in Florida and another state. I don't believe Carl Click knows it, nor do I think he knew fully knew the history or the person who he signed an agreement with in the Pinellas County Courts to allow him to use his license number.

Nor do I know if your personal transaction has anything to do with the other guy using his license, it just sounds like a mess. This company and Carl Click currently has a civil case in Pinellas County from a supply company who filed breech of Contract...not even sure if the Real Owner of Click Construction or they guy he is allowing to use his license, I dont know, it all looks fishy to me.

The one guy operates under several, several company names, some in another state and Florida, or under "relatives", wifes and kids names and misspelled names...do your own research, and you will see what I see. Stick to facts only, don't make any assumptions until you know the facts, against any individual or company.

Please note: I am not saying that this Carl Click is not a ligit business, I dont know, the other guy is questionable however, I don't know if Carl knows it or not. I did not check any real public records on this Carl Click

All I can say is that everyone should be very very cautious using ANY contractor this day and age. Do very very intensive background research not only on the business but the owner, through public records. never ever give money upfront...I am sorry this happened to you. File complaints with the Florida License regulations, and the Federal Trade Commission, and the BBB and the consumer protection agency, they do help to try to get your money back. If you can not resolve with the company first, document, document, document...

It sounds like jurisdiction will be in Texas for any civil or criminal action if there is any, I don't know, I am not an attorney, but you should still seek the advise of an attorney once you fully do your homework, and do what you can to resolve with the company first.

And don't ever just rely on a BBB report on companies as you can see from this, they are not accurate as to who the person behind the company is. Just because some one can reference a license number doesn't mean it is ligit..some contractors illegally broker licenses to others, who may or may not be good people. Its sad but you can't trust anyone, the one guy involved under this license advertises under attorney...I can't find that he is a licensed attorney...so beware, people check things out before you get involved with any company, not just this one.

This is what I found out with a little research on this company and one individual, not carl Click or Larry Pyatt through public records, customers beware. It takes some digging and time, but you can get the information you need on any business you decide to do business with before you give them any money
