I have been an affiliate of an online company that sells e-books through Clickbank.com. They have a ridiculous policy that requires your customers must pay with 3 different payment methods (visa, MC, Discover) before they cut you a check. Some people become affiliates only for the purpose of getting a discount on the product for themselves or other (friends) as they will then get paid the profit and thus get a discount and this policy is supposed to hinder that practice.

What it does is allow Clickbank to hold onto your affiliate profits for many months if possible
(many people do not use MC as a payment method, actually MC is used rarely in the marketplace as I have a business and 5% of the cards I take are MC).

I faxed them 3 weeks ago to send my profits from the sale of ebooks. No check arrived. I called Laura today, August 25, 08. Her response was we will send out the check at the end of the next period September 15th, 3 weeks from now. Unacceptable! I faxed them 3 weeks ago to release the funds with no response.

This is an unprofessional company run by incompetent people. Her tone with me was "we dont care sir if you don't agree with our terms, take it or leave it". I doubt I will hear from them. If I do and they send me the money tomorrow, I will change this, but I still wouldn't do business with them as they do not want to pay. They want to keep your money as long as possible to use it for trading, stocks, etc.
