Complaint Review: Clinton E. Brooks - Brooks International - Brooks Group

May 2007 clinton brooks stated that was able to refinance my company building with his company brooks international group. We talk about fixing the building up to pass state code before the city inspector. At that time Clinton said he also had a construction company and his contractor Kelvin can do everything. At that time we enter into a contract at our Detroit location he said he needed $6000 up front to start the refinancing process. He explained that each appraisal would cost $1000 each and we needed 2 he also stated the this price would cover the survey and closing fees of the loan and what ever is left he would return at closing.

I issued Clinton Brooks a check for $6000 to start the refinancing the building and he told me that he would like to meet me and my partner to dicuss the construction project. That following Saturday Clinton and Kelvin came to my house on there new motorcycle that they just purchase to follow up discussion about the construction project. At the time I trusted that 20 years of friendship and by him being a acquaintance of our family would be adequate. Clinton Brooks was awarded the contract which was $40,000 dallors. So, Clinton schedule an appointment with us to pick up the initial $10,000 dollars. After weeks of incompetent performance and lies the contract was breech. I ended up sueding him and was awarded $16,000 dollars but have not recieved a dime.

This low life con man is still doing the same schemes to others he needs to be caught.
