Closeoutgenius Unacceptable customer service including profanities Internet
on march 4th, 2009 I placed an order via a closeout genius website for a digital camera Canon EOS 50D (body only) priced at 409.00 - an unbelievably low price compared to other sellers. Later in the day I received an e-mail asking to confirm the purchase by phone.
after an hour of dialing and getting a busy signal I finally got a representative on the phone. after confirming my purchase i started asking questions about the camera to find out that a battery, battery charger and flash card are not included (totaling about 200.00),
which was not mentioned in the offer.
as i continued inquiring as to the other details of the offer, the representative first became rude and then simply hung up on me. i called back saying that i was unhappy with the customer service and that i want to cancel my order. first i was told that there is a 50% restocking charge. i questioned the validity of the restocking charge because the camera had not been shipped yet.
the representative's response was a stream of profanities screamed at me, after which he hung up on me again.
