Complaint Review: Closets By Design Phoenix

I hired this CBD back in May 2020 to customize 3 home closets.  They pressurized tactics of "temporary" discounts caused me to close the deal despite telling the designers I was not set on the design of the closets created at the time.  The designer indicated their flexibility and their guarantee for high quality customization with a promise that they stand by their work.  I quickly approved the designs of 2 reach in closets that was stalled by delay in product and installers.  During that time, I worked with designer to get the master walk in closet to satisfaction.

 When they company finished the two reach in closets as their was a delay in getting material for master the installer informed me of the errors in measurements by designer causing impromptu design changes and caused items paid for to not be installed.  I was told I would receive that credit as we worked on the master closet.  Unfortunately, after numerous efforts to get the master closet correct and to the quality of a 16k closet, I was forced to have the company end their attempts to install the closet. Numerous delays in product, errors in measurement and the time delays took a toll and as indicated by the company if I was not satisfy they would just take the material out that was in the closet.  

By November of 2020 all material provided from CBD in the master closet was removed.



 At that time, I asked the install manager to credit the overpaid desposit I had made of $745.00 and to provide the money owed for the items I paid for that was not installed in the 2 reach in closet due to their errors.  After multiple attempts to get the money owed, I signed a docusign of the $1200 credit and was awaiting me refund.  However, their owner when asked for a line item explanation insisted I owed him for the material costs due to his companies errors. He then indicated the $1200 was a deduction from that amount.  I have no closet from the company because they could not install based on their errors and the designs agreed upon.  I was not satisfied with paying for a 16k closet that was altered numerous times because they could not measure the closet properly.  

Their designer/install manager and their websites indicate guarantees that I did not receive.  Therefore I did not allow them another opportunity to try again as it wasn't what I originally agreed upon.  When I asked for the money to be re paid , the owner, Gil Santos indicated he would see me in court.  This company has had numerous complaints in the area regarding their poor work and when I indicated I would not allow them to keep trying the owners response was to charge me for all their mistakes and not pay back the money I paid in good faith from my deposit.
