Club Sunset - Royal Fisherman's, S.A. De C.V. Fisherman's Village Timeshare Ripoff - Playa Del Carmen, Other
Fisherman's, or whatever it currently calls itself does not provide the benefits delineated and or promised in the sales agreement. They would not ever allow us to book time promised to us & still demanded payment for the maintenance fees. We feel they broke our contract & ceased making the payments. Now they have hired a collection agency and are trying to get back payments. We were content to move forward & take our loss on the original purchase, but now are going to sue them for the cost of the purchase & back fees. Does anyone have a good recommendation for an attorney with experience?

This company is one of the most fraudulent developers in the timeshare industry. The only thing you can do is cancel your timeshare contract. I was also scam by Sunset Group out of close to 9,000 CD, which was taken as down payment, back in 2009 and it took until 2011 for PROFECO, a Mexican Government Agency to cancel my contract with Sunset, free of charge. Sunset stil mange to stole our down payment. i under stand what everybody who was scamed by Sunset is going through. I did try to cancel the contract after the second day of signing it. i went back to the office where we signed the contract and talked to the manager in charge at that day. We were told that we could not cancel the contract because we have signed a letter which was written only in spanish and which was the only one of which we did not get any copy of, in which we had given away all our right s to cancel the contract, even thought, the contract stipulated that we could cancel the contract withing 5 days, and literately pushed us out of the office. Intimidation, powerless, desperation and anger staid with me until 2012 when i was able to pay for the money sunset stole from me and my family. Don't let them do that to you, google them before you sign any contract.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I too was scammed in Playa del Carmen, but this time by Sandos/Royal Elite. It seems like timeshare resorts are taking advantage of vacationers, and it's sad that because of them the reputation of Mexico is being affected. Fortunately, I could get out of the Royal Elite Timeshare scam, but I've lost over 10,000 USD. There is no way I'm a attending a timeshare presentation now, I consider this as a hard-learned lesson.
