CNAC-Appleton, WI J.D. Byrider/CNAC Stole money from my bank account , Appleton Wisconsin

I made a one time payment to CNAC for my daughter, who gave me the cash.  She was unable to get to CNAC to make her payment before they closed for the day.  This was on January 20, 2015, and I made it clear to the girl answering the phone that this was a one time payment only.  Now, 2 months later, CNAC has debited my bank account for an unauthorized payment on my daughters car note.  I am not financing a car with this company, and I am not a co-signer.  I am looking into legal steps to stop this company from fraudulently accessing peoples bank accounts.  I was told my information would not be kept on file since it was a one time payment only.  I see from some of the posts here that this company has a habit of doing this.  I am also filing a complaint with BBB.

My statement is not about my daughter.  She did nothing wrong. I don't care if she pays her car note or not. I did contact my bank and had to have my debit card shut down, meaning I had no access to my own money and i am in the middle of moving cross country. I have to wait for a new one to be mailed to me.  Whether or not my daughter paid her car note, does not matter.

CNAC took money from my bank account withouth authorization. CNAC can not make me pay for someone elses car. Whether the company is a financial institution or not,  it is illegal to use someone's debit card without authorization.  What if Walmart, and other stores and institutions decided to do the same thing.  The transaction was a one time only transaction period.

First of all if you truly feel that the ACH was not allowed, you need to contact your bank not the BBB.  You need to file a dispute with them giving them the exact same detail you gave here.  As if it was one you did not authorize then yes you have a valid complaint.

I will say that it is likely(but possible) that your daughter did not make the payment on-time and they only did this after it was late.

You failed to mention if your Daughter made the payment that you had the deduction for?  As if she did then they should have a double payment, and you(actually probably your daughter) should be talking to them about getting that "extra" payment back.

But now if you say she failed to make the payment.  If the bank then reverses the ACH, the payment that was made no longer applies and your daughter is now delinquent.  As such she could be subject to additional fees and interest, AND is now in danger of having her car reposessed.   Oh and yes it won't matter what company she is with, most finance companies don't take too kindly to having payments reversed causing a person to be delinquent.  So while I am not saying go forward if this is the case, but if so you may end up winning the battle but loosing the war.
