Complaint Review: CNH Financial Services - Shopper's Lotto - Reader's Digest - Publishers Clearing

I received a leter from CNH Financial Services stating that they had been trying to reach me. They said that I had won an early-bird release of the 2008 consumers sweepstakes lottery. The amount I supposedly won was $38,000. A cashiers check for $3800.00 was enclosed and would be deducted from my winnings. It said I would be using some of the money to pay for the applicable insurance process fee on my winnings. I looked the bank of which the cashiers check was written on the internet and found a fax number. I faxed a copy of the check and the name of the company to the bank asking for feedback. The feedback I got was that this was fraud. I never lost anything except my time which I consider to be very valuable. I just want others to remember "if it looks to good to be true, it just might be." Always check things out before you act.
