The Co-operators Auto quote online are not reliable.

You, the consumer, enter all your information. You're told $6,000 is the lowest price.

That's the problem right there, a lot of people won't get off their a**es and head to a local broker's office, sit down with them and have them get you the best deal. Instead they use this service here, which is an added unnecessary step, when they could have gone directly to a broker.

I think a lot of people are getting duped by this site if they are not diligent.

The Co-operators broker does not always give you the best deal either.  I complained to broker and she told me to call the local District Manager.  He is new, from Windsor.  Never heard back?

Bait and Switch Mentioned in Another Rip Off Report

You are right!

The online quotes are not reliable because they want you to call the broker.  If you buy online with Co-operators you pay more but if you buy from one of the brokers they sell you more so you pay more.  One of the Rip-Off Reports talks about the Bait and Switch that they use and the online quotes are another way to get you to pay more.  You pay more online or you pay more when you call the broker.

We have a cottage in the Kawartha region with a family member.  The family member is a Co-operators customer so we insure the cottage through Co-op but we think they charge too much?  Probably about 30% higher than it should be?

The family member told us that they use credit scores, still charge more for the home insurance, and the broker in Lindsay has not been very good covering claims over the past 15 years.  Guess they called a local manager in Peterboro, some new manager from Windsor same guy mentioned in the report, and he did not return the call.

There are better companies to insure with and we will be changing the cottage insurance next time it renews.
