Complaint Review: Coachmen

Coachmen RV Co.,Jason Brewer, Regional Service Manager ripoff company used substandard materials/workmanship in constructing the motor home I purchased. the business that doesnt give a dam Middlebury internet .....

We owned a 1997 Coachmen 29' Class C Leprachaun motor home that the side walls developed a delaminating problem after the 2 year warranty expired. Because of the extent of the delamination problem (on three of the 4 sides) We maintain it was due to substandard materials/workmanship when the coach was built.

Coachmen maintains it has a 2 year warranty and will not offer any monetery compansation for the repairs estimated by the Coachmen people to be $8,000.00 per side. The extensive delaminating problem without the neccessary repairs means a death sentence for the unit. We cannot afford to put this money into it, nobody will purchase it with these problems and no dealer would take it in on a trade-in for another unit.

Because we borrowed money to purchase the motor home we still are paying monthly installments for it. Our only option was to have the bank reposses the coach, sell it at auction for any amount they can, and we are responsible for the balance. A fine way of enjoying retirement, thanks to the Coachmen Co. Please refer to my first report for a more detailed report. Thank you.
