I started receiving calls a week ago from this company Coast Mitigation.  The person Dean that called me was extremely rude stating that I owe them $1,795.00 for a Bank of America credit card from 5 years ago.  My identity was stolen in 2004 and I took all the appropriate steps to file identity fraud including filing several police reports, Federal Trade Commission, U.S. Secret Service, the FBI and the 3 major credit bureaus.  I did have a Bank of America credit card in 2004 that was illegaly used.  Bank of America concluded in 2005 that this was in fact fraud.  Now 5 years later I have this jerk calling me claiming that they purchased the debt.  They also had my current credit report and was picking it apart line for line.  I told him my credit is my business and was not in relation to the purpose of his call.  Dean was extremely rude and belittling.  I informed him number 1. The issue was resolved with BofA.  2.  Credit cards have a statute of limitations of 3 years and if the debt was correct it was past the time frame.  3. Never to call me again and Dean quoted he intended to continue his phone calls in a harrasing manner until I paid the money they requested.  Thank God for Google, as soon as I google Coast Mitigation nothing but fraud warnings came up.  If I receive any more calls from them I will contact the authorities and press charges.  If they contact you don't release any information and don't pay any money, simply contact the authorities like I will be doing..
