I utilized Coast to Coast to get a job. Steve the owner of Coast to Coast promised me lot,s of pay, 4 month's of work, and vacation pay. When I arrived at the ship(Iflew) I noticed a lot of differences in the ship's contract were contrary to what Coast to Coast had promised. I left the ship and went back home.I tried to call Coast to Coast prior to leaving the ship yet they were gone "early" that day. The crew of the ship told me that the person I replaced also left in the same fashion as they to were promised the best and got the least.

The contract you will sign with Coast to Coast does not GUARANTEE anything except that you now owe COAST to COAST a LOT of MONEY!! And the contract is legal!! There is no way out of the contract!!! COAST TO COAST MARITIME EMPLOYMENT SERVICES HAS YOU BY THE "balls".

COAST to COAST will then hire the most AGGRESIVE collection agencies in the U.S. and come after you. These collection agency's have in house lawyers and you will be SUED!!! I know as I am going through this as I write!

The ship I was to work on is the M/V Maurice Ewing. It is operated by Columbia University. The university played a roll in this as well. They were desperate for crew and they work "hand in hand" with Coast to Coast. It's a scam that is LEGAL.

I called the Attorney General's office and was notified that they and other agencies get these complaint's all the time . Yet they can do nothing as the way COAST TO COAST writes there contract's there is nothing they can do. YOU WERE WARNED!

Thank's to this posting I investigated COAST to COAST MARITIME EMPLOYMENT SERVICES and found that this company is a little on the SHAKEY side. The maritime industry is close knit and only by a "fluke" I talked to a person who also was taken for a ride by this company. Had I not seen the original Rip-off Report I never would of given a second thought to handing my money over to COAST to COAST. Hey!, Rip-off Report saved me.
