My grandmother was contacted by an automated phone call claiming to be from Expedia that she would get 900 off of a cruise to Mexico for six days and five nights. She was interested in hearing more and we transferred to an individual named Gabrielle. They had North American accents and so she did not think it as a scam from another country. She ended up getting talked into disclosing her credit card information thinking she was getting a good deal on  two person cruise. they gave her a confirmation number and approval code. She later felt wrong about it and called to cancel and they proceeded to say she had to fill out a proof of credit card ownership form and her signature ( basically gives them permission to use her card!) she ended up cancelling her credit card but was too embarrassed to tell anyone or argue with the bank. I found out two weeks later and I found out they had charged her card for 900 dollars. I called the number they gave and it was so fake and setup to seem legit. They said they would send me the cancellation info and it was b.s. Same thing about the credit card ownershp Form. They have two names so far and two websites that are templates with no actual legit info. they prey on the elderly. funny thing is after I had spoke with them an hour later I received a phone call from Texas offering services to get my money back if someone refuses to refund my money. Watch out for this scam!
