Coastal Marine; Coastalmarineonline ripoff, charged credit card, no merchandise, don't respond Brunswick Maine
Purchased an access hatch (for boat) from Coastal Marine in March 06. They charged my credit card well in advance. In fact, before I received an email notifying me that the hatch was backordered.
The hatch arrive, broken, a week after they had said it would. I immediately called them an reported the damaged hatch.
I was told that a replacement would be shipped immediately. After several weeks and no hatch, I tried to call them back. Their voicemail mailboxes are full...no way to even leave a message.
They have only responded to one email since April. My credit card was charged a second time for the same hatch and I still don't have a hatch as of 31 May 06.

After searching for a product on line and trying to purchase it through this company with no response of any kind, I went to the store to investigate. I found out that this company was no longer called Coastal Marine and also did not have an online program for sales. The new company Midcoast Marine Supply, inc. was established in early 2005 with the owner having two other very reputable business' set up in the same state.
The store is back to a "hands on come in and shop" local business which mainly caters to the Lobster and Commercial fishing business' although they also stock or have the ability to get most items needed for the pleasure boater as well. I did not get information as to where Coastalmarineonline had moved to, or if they where still in business, because none of the employees had knowledge of this info.
