COSTAL MARINE GANGWAY is an extended family operation.  They have facilities in CT and AZ. They also go by the name of Trailer Worx in AZ.

The Business Lice. For Costal Marine Gangways in AZ  is in the name of Justin M  Jeffers phone#623-387-5144  Last Bus address in AZ is 1424 E. Broadway rd
Phoenix AZ 85040.

Justin is a 21 year old helper. The man running the business is Jimmy Allen Email address is trailerworx6@gmail.com and trailerworx@yahoo.com.  Mary Ann Mazza  Phone # 843-694-8424 is the secretary and Scott Hodgkinson Email scott.trailerworx@gmail.com.

If you have been ripped off by these people please contact The Office of the Arizona Attorney General, public advocacy & civil rights division. Case # CIC 12-06495. This is an open case reviewing both Civil and Criminal Felony charges.

I entered in to a contract with Trailerworx to build a custom trailer Dec 2011. I was assured by Jimmy Allen by phone that he would get to work on the trailer first thing in Jan 2012. We had many phone and email conversations over the next five months. There was always an excuse but no trailer was ever built.

Trailer Worx did not receive a license from the Arizona Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Division to distribute or sale to the public until April 5 2012.

It is a federal crime in AZ to enter into a contract that you know you cannot legally execute.

A letter from J Jeffers to the Office of the Arizona Attorney General, dated Aug 12 2012 he wrote that Material he purchased was not cut or altered for his unique trailer build. We agreed to make installment payments which we have done so already to clear up this issue. We came to a solution that works for both parties. No work was done to make a trailer for more than five months. When they say no refunds and no time limit they actually dont plan to do anything.

The agreement, by phone with Justin Jeffers was, a refund of $100.00 per week payable on the first of each month until the $1918.00 deposit was fully refunded.

I received two checks for 175.00 dated 7-22-12 and 8-15-12

The checks were from a Chase account # 021100361-973783038

The checks stopped coming but not the phone calls. Justin would call to tell me that they had sent another check but none ever arrive.

The whole extended family run an elaborate con job. They will tell you anything but everything is a lie. They have perfected this
operation and are very good at it.

I have filed in small claims court and sent the summons by registered mail. They declined the mail; it is obvious that this is not their first summons. I let the suit laps as they promised to refund my deposit.

I would not expect them to comply with a court judgment and will probably end up putting a lean on the business.

I am told that they have a new contract with a government agency. Most agencies will not do business with a company that may have a felony conviction. If anyone knows the government agency they should be advised and consider pulling their contract.

What is the best agency to deal  with tax fraud?  Trailer worx does not charge tax on the deposit. When the work is never done and there is no refund , this becomes free monies that are not declared to the AZ tax or the federal tax. This business has all the makings of a money laundering system.

There are many sights on the internet, under rip off, leaning post, the hull truth that have posted complaints about CMGANGWAYS practice of taking a deposit and never doing the work or refunding the deposit. I am sure that these are only a small portion of the people scammed by this business as most just give up and accept the loss.

I Justin Jeffers was never a paid employee or owner of this company or any compnay affialted with Jim Tatler.  He was my uncle who I trusted and was learing a trade from. My mother, his sister died and I went to live with him thining it would be a good experinced.  Instead  I was influenced in a negative way.  He used my information to open accounts, order equipment and has everything in my name.  I have judgements against me for all of this mess, my credit is ruined all while he had his "stepmother"buy him a new building. with a new business name to start fresh.  If anyone has any further information to clear my name please contact me.  Thank you.

Also Contact Phoenix BBB and make a report.Remember none of this will be sure to get your money back.

These guys are professional con artists, Their primary job is to steel money. All of the pictures, web sights and promises are part of the SCAM. They know how to hide assets, avoid summons, avoid court ordered payments, and stay one step ahead of the law.

There have always been snake oil salesmen. They get some one to vouch for them and make it look real but there is nothing there.

When you go to a place of business during working hours and the door is locked, the windows are blackened out and there is razer wire all around. That should be a warning.

If this was a legitimate business and they had not had a chance to build your trailer in a reasonable time and had not done any work They would be glad to refund your deposit.

Be sure to Email, Mail and or FAX your statement and documents to the list above and reference the CIC # and ask for a confirmation.

The state is overwelmed with cases like this and it takes some time to shut them down, but with your help and others we will get it done.....Walt

James Allen Tatler, I am glad you like my hats they are fun. Thank You Don and Thanks to all that have filed complaints with the AZ Attorney General.  If you have not filed a complaint yet please do so to:

consumerinfotucson@azag.gov  Subject RE: 12-06495 I have checked and the complaints are getting to the attorney handling the case. The complaints can come from any of the web sites  James runs; www.coastalmaringangways.com, www.trailerworx.com , www.evolutionboattrailers.com , www.palmbaytops.com , www.desertcustomaluminum.com , www.arctecmarine.com , www.bluewatertops.com . They are also checking complaints on Ripoff report/cmgangways, Leanning posts.com , and thehulltruth.com .

They wrote a letter to the Arizona Attorney General and Pheonix BBB stating that they had not cut any aluminum and would make payments to refund my deposit.  They made two payment totaling $350.00. The balance due of $1568.00 I probably will never get, just like all of the other complaints. This in no longer a single complaint but the way they do business. This work with the AZ Attorney Generals office  may make it so they can not do business in AZ

Custom Trailer Builds

#10Consumer Comment

Tue, March 12, 2013

I can tell you the pictures of trailers on their web site are real trailers that they built.  The trailer they built for me is posted on their site.  It's also nice that they post updated photos on their Facebook site, so you can see the progress of your trailer as it's being built.  I've realized through my experience that custom trailers can take a lot of work to build, unless you just want something real basic.

My trailer had many unique things that made the build more complex, but Trailerworx was able to do it.  The key with any custom build to avoid delays is understanding what it is you want "before" placing the order, documenting it via a drawing or picture so they clearly know what to build, and then not doing any major changes after the build starts.  Being wishy washy and/or changing up what you want mid-stream will just cause confusion and delays.

CMGangways, Trailerworx A Scam

#10Author of original report

Mon, February 18, 2013

I am glad that you got your trailer you are one in one hundred. All the others pay a deposit and never see a product. It looks good on the internet but it is all a scam. James Allen Tatler spends all his time working his internet sights and seldom builds anything. He posts pictures but that is not his work.

The AZ business is not in James Allen Tatler name because he cannot get a business lic. He is a convicted felon in CT and started the business in AZ under his nephew Justin Jeffers, but the business practice is the same and soon will move again.

The Arizona Attorney Generals office is still working on and collecting complaints about CMGANGWAYS, TRAILER WORX and other sights he uses. Any complaints can be added to the ongoing case : CIC 12-06494. They will soon see an audit that will disclose unpaid Federal and AZ Taxes. Mary Ann Mazza has been trying to (cook the Books) but I don't think the Feds will be fooled. When convicted Justin goes to jail and James is off to start again.

Happy with my Trailer

#10Consumer Comment

Mon, February 11, 2013

I purchased and received a utility trailer from TrailerWorx to haul my UTV/ATV's. The company is a custom manufacturer, so it can take longer since every trailer is unique to the customer needs. Also, the company was growing so fast (which is a good problem to have) that they had to move to a larger facility in Phx, so got a little backed up on orders.  Their trailers are the highest quality and well built. It can take longer, but it's worth the wait and they will get the job done to your exact specs.  I'm definitely happy with my trailer.
