Cocoa Hyundai dishonest and abusive sales tactics ripoff Cocoa Florida
I had purchased two cars from Hyundai without incident, until I looked at a Tucson for my husband. After the test drive at Cocoa Hyundai, I found that with my Sonata trade in (worth practically nothing although in top shape) the payments on the Tucson were much more than I could afford so we said forget it and tried to walk away. They literally held the keys to my Sonata trade in and kept showing me lower numbers until I said okay when they reached my number that I could afford. They said that would be my monthly payment $419. They said congratulations and to take it home.
After not hearing from them about the lien holder, I called two days later to get the lean holder info to give to my insurance company, a business manager said he is still trying to put a deal together and said I will have to pay a higher monthly payment and perhaps put money down. This was a shock to me as I thought the matter had been settled. We agreed on a number and they told us to take it home! Sounded like I was in a bait and switch game with financing. If you could not do the dealdon't offer it to people to get them to take the car home. That is cheating!
Finally, I talked to the night manager and said I think I will have to bring back their car. He said, You do that! I asked about the trade in on my Sonata and he said, You can have it back. I replied, We are on our way to bring it back. As I have to work in the morning and did not know if I had to sign paperwork, we got in the car and did what the man saidwe went to bring back the Tucson car and get our Sonata back.
So, my husband and I drove the Tucson back (He drove, I was on the phone with the insurance company telling them that the deal fell through and to not insure the Tuscan, to put the Sonata back on). The insurance people said they would do this as of that phone call as the temporary dealer insurance was due to lapse.
We walked into the dealership and the angry manager said, You'll have to bring it back tomorrow.
I asked if he could at least call us a cab, as we could not drive the Tucson back home due to it being uninsured as of the phone call on the way there and we rode in the same car.
He began ranting at us: "We don't have your car here, this is a dangerous neighborhood so we can't store cars here. He threw a $50 bill at us and said Call your own cab and get your Asses off the premises. Apparently, the he had no problem throwing people out into the bad neighborhood at night that is not safe to store my trade in car. My husband got so mad that he just threw down the keys on the manager's desk and we left.
As we were leaving, the crazy manager yelled after us that he was going to call the police. Why would he do that? My husband is a big man but he was not threatening, just upset about someone throwing $50 at his wife like she was a tramp or something. As my cell phone battery just died, we took a bus home at night in the bad neighborhood.
This is the thanks a Hyundai customer gets. I bought a Sonata in 2004, an Accent in 2006 and with this Tucson deal I was treated horribly.
If you can't stand behind your deals that you make in haste as the customer is trying to walk away, at least be nice about restitution. Could it have killed him to call a cab for us? Our cell phone had died and I did not have a phone book in my pocket to look up a taxi, so we had to wait in the dark for a bus.
PS. My husband went back the next day, got our 04 Sonata back and left an envelope with a letter to the manager and the $50 for that horrible man.. I am a schoolteacher and don't make much money, but I won't stand for managers throwing money at me like I am a bum. We got our trade in back, but what a way to treat people! If you can't get your way...get abusive?
They never called to apologize.

Cocoa Isn't Dangerous!!

I can't believe the lady saying that Cocoa Hyundai is in a dangerous neighborhood. It is true that the area has seen better days. Back in the day Cocoa Hyundai was the home of the local Church's Fried Chicken Franchise, we take our history very seriously in Cocoa.
This is a great neighborhood if you need a bail bond. They are right across the street with a real menacing guy on the sign saying "Got Bail".... So, if your hubbie had decked the F & I guy you could have gotten him bailed out.
Across the street is a payday loan company where you might have gotten down payment assistance at 400% interest.
On another corner there is a used car dealership that is owned by the local Toyota dealer who makes the guys at Cocoa Hyundai look like Boy Scouts. (LOL)
Anyway, Cocoa is a great place if you need a bail bond, payday loan or a used car. Also some nice pawn shops and a Army-Navy Store. There is a rumor that the recently closed liquor store in the neighborhood is going to be replaced real soon.
Therefore dear Lady, stop knocking Cocoa. I don't think the neighborhood is dangerous although some of the merchants may be.
Tip: When you buy a car you should NEVER take delivery until you have a duly executed retail installment contract. Verbal assurances are NOTHING!! When you buy a used or new car always have the terms in writing and signed by a dealership official. Too often people get the call for a "bump" which means the car will cost you more.
Good luck with your next purchase. I wouldn't drive a Hyundai any further than I would be prepared to walk.

i am sorry you had this experience with us before, but it also sounds like you had 2 other great experiences before with us also. sometimes when you go somewhere to do business, one person can upset you, but that doesn't mean that everyone is bad to deal with. ALSO the person it sounds like you were speaking of hasn't been with us for quite some time. again i am sorry for what happened and if you could stop i introduce myself and apologize in person. thanks, chuck
