Complaint Review: Cognizant Ventures

 Cognizant Ventures is a small graphic design and marketing agency in Manhattan, New York City.  They struggled for three months to develop and use effective lead generation and selling strategies and tools to generate revenue and be profitable for their sales team. The focus was on a version of every door direct mail, then expanded to digital marketing services.  There were repeated errors in strategy and execution that caused problems for clients and the sales team. Many of the businesses that were contacted and prospected were not a good fit for the direct mail service.  Yet, several contractors continued to call and try to sell these businesses a product that was not right or affordable for them. The company did not use the resources needed to generate enough qualified leads to be profitable for its sales team or appointment setters.  All who worked there were independent contractors, so there was a lack of consistency and standard procedures. Some clients invested quite a bit of money and got no or or few few responses to their direct mail campaigns.  Despite several attempts to address these issues, little changed. The company and its CEO have the skills and knowledge to provide excellent services to small to mid-sized companies yet repeatedly did not execute or deliver the internal resources required.
