On March 23, 2007 I went to Cohen's Fashion Optical, Stamford Town Center, 100 Greyrock Place Stamford, CT 06901 for my annual eye examination. As a result, I received a new prescription which required that I purchase new lenses. In addition to various other options that I purchased out of pocket, the new lenses total cost was $265.00, with meant an out of pocket expense to me of $107.00. Since receiving my new glasses I have returned to Cohen's 4x, letting them know that I was having trouble seeing out of the glasses. At first I was told that I need to what a week to 10 days to adjust to them, which I did. No improvement. Since then the Optometrist at Cohen's has reexamined my vision two more times and continued to ensure me that the prescription was correct. At my last visit, which was August 3rd, because I was still having difficulty reading and my distance was blurry the Optometrist proceeded to tell me that I needed a second pair of glasses for reading and computer work (of course at an additional cost to me.) At that point, I had become frustrated with the numerous visits, futile recommendations and I was still not able see correctly.

Therefore, on August 7, 2007 I went to Pearl Vision Center. There I was informed of several things 1) the frames that I selected may not be conducive for the progressive lenses that I received 2) the Optometrist there increased the reading portion of my prescription and 3) it was noticed that my eyes are not physically aligned with each other and this may be what was causing my distance vision to blur. Therefore the new lenses would be adjusted to accommodate the difference in eye level. Unfortunately, this required a new examination and new lenses. At a further out of pocket expense to me.

I returned to Cohen's Fashion Optical to allow them an opportunity to make amends for their inability to provide me with satisfactory care. However, rather than realizing the inconvenience and unnecessary expenses they have had me to incur, the representative at Cohen's became very angry with Pearl Vision and stormed over to the phone to call them, saying "they can't do that, they can't do that. You might as well go back to Pearl and get your money back and come back here because I am not going to give you any money back!" My point to him was thatI had already given them 4 months to correct the problem.

This is not the service I neither expected nor deserved.

Apparently the representative that I dealt with never brought my service issues to the attention of the establishment proprietor and Optometrist, Dr. Bloom. I am happy to report that once Dr. Bloom heard what happen he apologize and gave me a full refund, minus the cost of my frames (which is totally acceptable).
