CoinMach Laundry Coinmachcode.com CVA Failure to provide service in exchange for payment. Theft of payment. Unpublished "administrative" fees. Indianapolis, Indiana
This company took over the laundry mat in our building a short time ago. Since then there have been several issues.
Minor Complaints:
The dryers rarely completely dry a load of laundry. They are small machines and can only hold about 3/4 of the load a regular washer/dryer can handle. These are mixed loads, so it isn't a bunch of towels or jeans. Yes, I made sure the lint trap was clean.
The washers always have standing water in the soap compartment. This is probably because they were never leveled out.
Major Complaints:
It is common for a machine to deduct money from the card but not start a load. If you put the card back in, it deducts it a second time and then starts. I thought I was mistaken the first time. Then I started being diligent about watching the values, and it has happened 5 or 6 times. (At $1.25-1.50/load, this is ~$7.50)
A new card costs $5. This does not mean you get a $5 card. You get a $1 card. Apparently they forgot to mention the $4 service charge for a card anywhere on the machine.
When you have a laundry card, you can load it with money using a bank or credit card. I entered the number on the back of the card when I made the deposit, and then went to the machine that adds the value to the card. The internal and external card numbers do not match. There is no way to change the deposit to the different card number. The money is simply gone. Fortunately I only added $10 so I wasn't out the $50 the system tries to default to.
So, I'm only out a little over $20. But I've also wasted a bunch of time, and time has value too.
The machine that adds cash value to cards also ate $3 once, but at least the company sent me a refund check for that. I tried to call them tonight, but they are closed.
