I had CBPU "high speed internet"installed last week because I was fed up with Charter (a whole other story there) and it has been slow and I can't do much of anything. I have their 6 meg service so I figured I shouldn't have any problems....WRONG! I went out and bought a new modem because the one they provide to me is a piece of junk. So I call internet tech support and they inform me, "Oh, you can't own your own modem on our network!" Even though every other cable company in the world allows you to have your own modem...he told me that there was nothing wrong even though I had 15% packet lost which means anything with VOIP or online gaming is shot! They tell me they will have a tech out tomorrow to fix it but I am seriously considering getting Charter back because at least I could use my stuff half way!!!
