Complaint Review: College Consultant Group

This company is a scam they charged me $1500 for financial services for my daughter which I found out is free through her guidance counselor at her school. They sent her a letter telling her they received her name from her guidance counselor and that she was one of the few selected one, when I asked the counselors at the school, they told me they never heard of this company and that they had ripped us off. They only give you a 3 day grace period to cancel your contract. They also promised my daughter will be able to attend the school of her choice and they will help pay for her travel if she decided to attend a college in another state they also claimed by the time my son graduated from high school he to will be set for college. that is why my daughter and son decided they wanted to attend college in Miami, Florida and other state becuase of what these people told us in the meeting. the only thing these people did was took my money and sent a whole lot of paper of the same thing for them to fill out. My daughter end up going to a local college and had to take out a student loan. They promised us we wouldn't have to do that, now they have taken me to court and I am ordere to pay these people for nothing. these people must be stopped. They make it sound like the fasfa is so hard to fill out and it is not Fastweb send my daughter information all the time about different scholarship and how to apply for them and the fasfa is so easy, and 10 year old can fill it out. Please! Please! somebody put a stop to these people ripping hard working families off and taking advantage of us.
