we were notified to meet at martin tn to get help with
college funding in april 2002. we went and were approached on how would we pay for college. we were told that the college funding would take care of all paper work for us. our bill was 1329.72 + our down payment. we took the program and did make payments. well needless to say they did not get us the grants or loans that our daughter needed. we thought we would have help on these things.

our daughter at that time was fininshing up her sophmore year. she then went to home school and completed her junior and senior year and graduated in 2003 with honors at age 16. she then prepared to start dyersburg state in fall 2003. we had nothing ready. we were ripped off, she is now 17 and on her second semister at dyersburg with 0 3.3 gpa. but we are strugling to keep her in. she has hopes to be a trama doctor or er doctor.

by the grace of god she will be able to stay in college.
a lot of the scholarships are for high school graduates and this is hard on us now. if this company had been honest we would be ok in college, but as it is we will have to see. good honest hard working people should not have to be taken advantage of on things like this.

if any way to get our money back would appriciate it. this would almost pay 1 semister for her. any new information would be considered.

#2Consumer Suggestion

You paid a very HIGH amount and need to get your refund NOW. There is another Report here where someone paid $1,200. You're not suppose to pay any upfront processing fee, in order for your daughter to qualify and recieve loans or scholarships, not even to locate the basic information. Be wary of anyone demanding an upfront fee, because ALL of this information is available at your local library cost free.

You can fill those applications out on your own cost free.

College Funding Center has been taken to Court by the Federal Trade Commission. They have been shut down. I want you to have this specific information for your refund, contact:

Gary D. Kennedy
Senior Litigation Counsel
Federal Trade Commission
Suite 2150, 1999 Bryan Street
Dallas, Texas, 75201
214-979-9350 (voice)
214-953-3079 (fax)

Make sure he knows just how much money you lost, and that your daughter is an honor student.

These people have been shut down. Now, because your daughter is just getting started--I want you to watch for these aliases to avoid these people, because I have not heard anything about their affiliates or other associations. I will not make assumptions.

ALIASES: The College Advantage, Inc., International College Funds, College Funding Group, College Advantage

Please reconsider paying out money, and check out your local library cost free.

Hope this helps.
