Colon Smart Ripoff-I've had the same thing happen to me

I have had the same thing happen to me with this company. I ordered the trial version of the product and shortly thereafter (well within the 14 day trial period) I cancelled the account by e-mail and also made numerous attempts to contact them over the phone but got either a very long automated-wait message then disconnection, or nothing at all. I was shocked when later they charged me over $88 for a shipment I wasn't expecting and caused my account to go overdrawn. I didn't even bother to open the shipment, mailed it back to them in the original package and again tried numerous times to have it cancelled. Finally I did get a cancellation confirmation from the company via e-mail but they have yet to refund the charges to my bank account even though I requested an initial cancellation that should not have resulted in no further shipments or charges to my account. Imagine, if they do this to just 10,000 people per year that would be almost 1 million dollars iin fruadulant revenue they generate by this scheme of not canceling when people request and then shipping unwanted products. The catch is they have a statement on their web-site claiming that you can't get a refund once a product has been shipped--I don't know of any legitimate company that would actually expect you to pay for something you don't want and even if you return the UNOPENED product, they won't even give you a partial refund. I'm filing an Internet Scam complaint with the FBI's Internet Crimes Complaint Center (since really this company generates it's revenue online and gets all of your banking information online) and I encourage anyone who's had a similar experience to do the same thing: http://www.ic3.gov/

Try getting the financial institution that issued you your credit card involved. The Colon Cleanse thing is all over the net as being really scammy, and you've done everything you can do on your own. Now you need some backup, and your bank is the next logical step. Talk to them, tell them you've done everything you can think of, and tell them you want to stop the payments and dispute the charges. This will work better if you've sent mail (real postal mail), return receipt requested, requesting that Colon Cleanse cancel your account, but the Colon Cleanse web site is conveniently inaccessible right now (surprise) so you'll have to get the address yourself, if they have one: www.colonsmartcleanser.com/cancel.php

As to where your packages are ending up, that's hard to say without knowing a bit about your living situation. If you live in an apartment, the packages may be too big for your mailbox or mail slot. In that case, they might be ending up at the front office, or left on your doorstep. Check with the office. If they were left in front of your door, it's possible some curious passerby stole them.

If you live in a house, they may be getting left on your doorstep, or hidden behind some bushes. Again, possibly swiped by a curious passerby, but check the area around your front door just in case.

If you live in a gated community, they might be getting left outside the gates, or with the guy in the security booth. Check there, but they might have gotten stolen in either instance.

If you use a post office box, and the packages were too big for the box, you should have gotten a small slip of paper notifying you that there were packages waiting for you and to come to the desk to claim them. The notices are small and easy to miss, but go up to the desk and ask if they have any packages for you.

Also, check with your neighbors. One of them may have accepted delivery, or just took the packages for safekeeping or something. Not likely, since it's been over two months and they should have mentioned it to you right away, but it's possible. You don't need to mention what was in the packages or where they were from, but just ask if they might have picked up a couple of small packages to keep them from being stolen. You'll probably want to get a post office box if you do that, though, because it will alert them that you have packages that end up on your doorstep and they might start looking for them.

That's all I can think of right now.

It's in the "Terms and Conditions", also you had the wrong phone number

You should always read the entire Terms and Conditions of every page you submit information to. On the Colon Smart Cleanser Terms and Conditions page, it reads:

"Your order will not be processed unless you check the box near the terms and conditions signifying that you have read and agreed to the terms. This procedure ensures us that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these terms and conditions please contact us via email at support@colonsmartcleanser.com or call us toll free at 1(888) 765-5557. "

You checked the box signifying you read and agreed to the terms. Next time, don't do that until you actually have read them. Furthermore, you apparently not only blindly checked the box once, but you do it every single month:

"Terms and conditions may be revised at any time without notice so you must review and check the approved box for each of your orders."

Stop doing that. Start paying attention to what you're agreeing to purchase.

It goes on to say,

"If you enjoy the product, do nothing and 14 days after your FREE trial order date, and every 30 days from there on, you will be billed using the same credit card you used during the free trial order. The monthly supply shipment consists of 2 bottles (30 day supply) for $39.99 per bottle plus shipping and handling of $8.99. No refunds will be issued for returning a 30 day supply."

So that's two bottles at $39.99 each plus shipping and handling of $8.99, which is a total of $88.97 per month, which you indicated that you agreed to, by checking the box mentioned above.

You should also have read that you needed to cancel within 14 days, and will not receive a refund for any orders that have already been shipped.

"14 DAY TRIAL PERIOD INCLUDES SHIPPING AND TRANSIT TIME

You are not obligated to purchase after you receive your free trial bottle of the ColonSmart product and you can cancel anytime within the 14 day cancellation period. Even if you decide to cancel, please keep the FREE bottle as our gift to you.

To avoid being charged you must cancel before your 14 day trial period is over. There are NO refunds for the ColonSmart Autoship Program monthly orders that have already been shipped.

You may cancel your Value Autoship Program by calling 1(888) 765-5557 Monday thru Friday 9am-5pm Pacific Time or at your convenience at www.colonsmartcleanser.com/cancel.php"

Try calling 1 (888) 765-5557 and see how things go. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get your money back, because you did agree to the charges, but you should be able to stop them from sending further shipments to you. Be prepared to pay for at least one more shipment, though, in case you catch them after they've already shipped out that month's supply.

Also, if a charge of less than $100 is going to cause you to overdraft, you really need to stop messing around with nonsense like this (colon cleansers and whatnot). Put the card in a safe place, along with your checks, and start using only cash. Nobody with less than $100 cushion to their name should be anywhere near a credit card or checks. And blowing money on something like this? Come on. What were you thinking?
