Columbia House DVD Club Charged for products already paid for even after sending copies of cancelled check Indianapolis Indiana
Because this company withdrew money from account I changed the account number, so after completing my obligation last year, I was sent two coupons for free DVD's. I sent the payment along with the order form because that is what they said to do. A month later, I received two DVD's and then was billed for them. After trying to get them to respond about the coupons with no luck, I went ahead and paid for the DVD's. Later on in the month, I received a bill with not only the charge for the two DVD's but late charges as well.
I then responded with a copy of the check front and back and a letter explaining about the coupons and that I had already paid for the DVDs when they had sent me the letter requesting payment in advance since they did not have access to my account any more. Almost a year has past and now I start receiving these same statements again, with accrued late fees. There is no way to contact this company. I've sent letters, called their number and e-mailed them with no success.
There is no way to deal with this company and there is no way I am willing to pay another $42.88 plus late payments for something that was supposed to be free and that I ended up paying for once anyway. How many times am I supposed to provide proof that I have already paid for these items?
