As a former employee at the Canadian operations of Columbia House in Scarborough, Ontario, I can mention things about this company that demonstrate just how unethical a company Columbia House really is.

In fact, the collection notices that Columbia House sent out to customers were signed by fictitious people. The best name that stands out is Frank Pearson. The odd time that I worked on the phones for Columbia House, some customers would demand to speak to Frank Pearson, in which I would have to give these customers an evasive response. I mean, if you going to send out collection notices to customers, at least send out notices that have been signed by an actual individual in the company.

To make a long story short, I was fired from job as a Customer Service Representative at the Canadian operations of Columbia House in October 1999, because I was simply not able to process anywhere around 250 pieces of written customer correspondence in a 7.5 hour shift. By the way, the name of the person who dismissed from my job at Columbia House was Peter Fee, the General Manager of Customer Service (and a complete numbers individual if there ever was one).

I'm sure your experiences from a company from over a decade ago are still valid.

I mean, there's no way they have changed anything in 10 years.
