In January 2010 I received a delinquent bill from columbia house and I never  ordered or received anything from them.I tried to call them and  they told me that that account does not exist .A few months later it showed up on my credit report and then I tried disputing it but so far they messed up my credit by at least 20-30 points.Let's all file a class action suit against Columbia House and  National Recovery !Oh,and while at it,throw Experian in it too because they are liars and cheats and  charged me for the 3 credit reports with the credit scores and  it was not available.Has anybody tried to cancel a membership or get their money back from them ?The person on the phone is so annoying it hurts.Told me repeatedly that I will be able to see all my credit score in 24-48 hours and when I told her that I needed it on Monday and I ended up ordering it from Equifax  she kept repeating the same thing over and over.UGGGH  !!!

Possible Identity theft ?

It might be ID Theft of some sort. Last year, Someone Used MY name and mailing address and enrolled me in two coumbia house memberships, using someone else's credit card info. I contacted Columbia House immediately and the acoounts were flagged as fraudulent, and was told that I could keep the dvd's.. I think what happened is that I logged into a hacked wireless network, while using my laptop while at an airport. I did not have any credit card info on my laptop, so I think my name and address were stolen and used. It was a hassle to correct.  Good luck, and I hope it all gets straightened out .
