My 84 year-old, nursing home-bound mother received a phone call from this agency to renew a subscription to TV Guide. They asked her for her checking account number, which she gave (she has dementia) for the subscription.

This company subscribed her to: Better Homes & Gardens, Fast Company, Golf Tips, 2Wheel Tuner and Working Mother. She is with the program enough that she would not subscribe to a motorcycle magazine, a magazine for business leaders, golfing or one for working mothers. These were unauthorized.

I have spent an entire morning trying to clear the problem up with the individual magazines who have been most cooperative. One of the companies indicated that they have received several complaints about this very company. In addition, I have had to close her bank account - just in case

Considering the highly questionable business practices of this company, consumers should know that they should subscribe to magazines only through the individual magazines' publisher to avoid companies like this from obtaining personal information. They also violate the "do not call" registry.
