Just realized that pay per view porn movies are on my Comcast cable bill. After further investigation, they have been hitting my bill every month for almost 3 years! Wife pays the bill on-line and had not realized the increase. Most of the time these are ordered I am not home (at work)..wife would be asleep with kids.
Comcast is telling me that it is impossible to steal cable however a woman in the technical dept. told me that it is indeed possible. I live in a town house and Comcast admitted to me that the occupant two homes over from mine (one building) has "a lot" of porn activity. The cable wires go through the
length of the building so he has access to my wires but Comcast says even if he "spliced" off my line he would only receive basic cable and would not be able to order ppv.
I am more frustrated of the security breach than the money! The total right now is over $1,200.00 They say they are going to reimburse me $500.00 as a credit. That's it? Help.

as a ex employee i would like to add it is possible and even easy to steal cable from a neighbor but as stated earlier in another rebuttal you could only get basic cable

there is no chance of receiving pay per view from stealing cable from the neighbor without actually splicing off of the cable box output that goes directly to the tv

this means it would have to be done in the same room as his tv no way possible from outside of the house

also sattelite companies have dual tuner boxs that require 2 remotes one of which is a remote that transmits a uhf frequency that will go through walls this is because the box is in one room while controlling 2 tvs in 2 seperate rooms

the other remote is a standard ir (infra red) remote which will not normally transmit through walls let alone from another residence

comcast only uses ir remotes also note customer service reps are not trained in the area of service related problems other than a few basic questions they may to resolve the problem over the phone

with this much said for the neighbor in order to steal pay per view from this guy he would have to have the wire running from the back of his neighbors set to his house and get in to his neighbors house each and everytime to order the pay per view and use his remote to do it as well because most universal remotes will not get in to menu functions and comcast only uses ir type remotes because they do not use dual tuner boxs so they will not transmit through walls

and all of this in the middle of the night while his wife and kids are sleeping if you buy in to any of this please contact me asap i have a bridge to sell and i sure could use the money

YOU just noticed that you were being charged for Porn Movies at times when your wife was home asleep. Are you saying that in 3 years your wife did not once even glance at the detail of the bill, seeing PPV movies. Playing Devils Advocate, could it be possible that she was actually ordering these movies?

If in fact these were missed, why is there a RipOff report on Comcast. It took you 3 years to find out this was happening? How is Comcast supposed to know that they are not valid. But once you found out they were still willing to credit you almost 1/2 of the bill.

However, if the Comcast Rep did actually state that the home owner in the next building had "a lot" of Porn Activity. You do have a right to be very upset about this and their security. After all if they are saying this about your neighbors, what could they be telling your neighbors about you? This is a privacy issue the Rep should not have said anything about a specific neighbor, even if they didn't specify a name.
