I have had my account with Comcast for a number of years. I work from home so I have to maintain a certain speed. The alternate is AT&T but their fastest speed is only 3MBPS down, which is useless, especially since I work over a VPN.

Long story short, I have a plan that I was grand-fathered into because it no longer exists. As of July 2nd of this year, I have had more than 50 service interruptions and outages. Oh, and that is not an exaggeration! I have had numerous technicans and got my modem replaced about 3-4 times. I have never had issues with their Customer Service or technicans until today, and it is only with customer service as their technicans are always stellar and more polite.

The interruptions were so bad that my job was in jeopardy and it has caused me to be behind in my academic endeavors and certifications that I take online. As a result, the company I work for (A fortune 500 company) decided to take over my account to see if putting it under a corporate structure would force Comcast to provide better service. Eventually, as per my SOP from my employer, I needed to have a separate line. So on 09/30/2014, they installed a separate line and my account was suppose to be released back over to me. However, I was up at 2AM doing some work and then I got a Comcast activation page. After speaking with Technical Support, I was told that my service was completely disconnected and that I needed to call back after 8AM.

I called around 9:27AM and was told that they could re-establish my service and was sent an email with something to sign. After I signed, I tried to confirm with the agent if I am simply re-establishing what I had prior and she said, yes. Subsequently, I was told I was signing a new two year agreement as I was starting service from scratch. This is unacceptable because, I am planning on moving and have no intentions on getting Comcast because of all the money they cost me; and I do not plan on paying a cancellation fee if I move as a result of some screw up. I should not have been disconnected in the first place!

I called to get the numbers for a Regional Manager or someone higher up and they kept passing me around and telling me they have nothing to provide. An agent asked me to hold for a moment to see if there is anything she could provide and about ten seconds later, someone else answered the call. She transferred me without telling me! I spoke to another agent who transferred me to his supervisor and after giving her my account information and explained the situation, she asked me to hold while she took a look at my account and once again, someone else answered the phone. This caused me to keep repeating things over and over again. I expressed my frustration with the next agent that I was being transferred and all I wanted was the contact information on who I can contact about these issues. He was adamant to get my account information and stated that he could not help me if he did not know what was going on. I gave him everything he asked for and then he said he would see if there was anything he could do and he placed me on hold for 9 minutes or more and then someone else answered...again! So he also transferred me without telling me. I had to hang up on the next agent because I cannot be explaining the same things over and over again like that.

This has impacted me GREATLY! From being behind in my school work, my employment, future opportunities, everything! The only option I have now is to just move in order to completely avoid Comcast. I am going to be writing the BBB, Consumer Affairs, and may even post my experience on YouTube! I am so upset about this. I am use to hearing how horrible Comcast's Customer Service agents were but I never had that experience until today!

If you prayed to God and ask him for the worst, he would send you Comcast Service!

You will never receive any satification.  You are stuck.  If you live to be 300 years old you won't get the same answer twice from these people. When they are in the wrong they WILL transfer you to the idiot room.  In there the people say the first thing that comes to mind.  The only thing you can do is clog their customer service lines daily, you still won't get antwhere but at least your costing them money.  I drove from Filthydelphia to Rutland Vermont with a rep on the phone the whole way.
