Back To Basics! Remember back in the 1960's when cable television was still wet behind the ears. If you lived in rural areas such as the desert or smokey mountains, far away over the air channels were received and boosted from a repeater antenna on a tall mast that would feed the signal over a cable into your home. For a few dollars a month, a customer could receive this service and still be in touch with the rest of the country.

In the 1970's, Ted Turner intoduced the United States to Turner Broadcasting System based in Atlanta GA. We discovered CNN, The Weather Channel, WTBS and many more cable channels through out the years that Ted Turner would gain notoriety for. Over time cable television was quickly growing in America and there were not many complaints about it at all. Hey! people were watching first run movies at home commercial free and up to the minute, uninterrupted commercial free news that was repeated every half hour on the hour on CNN Headlines News. There was also uninterrupted, commercial free weather reports on The Weather Channel. What was there to complain about? Do you remember a trend at the time that we no longer see today in 2005? Commercial Free channels.

We are not getting the basic information we once were in the 1980's, without a continuous interruption of television commercials every two minutes. Even though the cost for cable has quadrupled for consumers in the last 20 years, we are not getting up to the minute infomation we are requesting at the flip of the channel on the remote control. All we are getting for this high cost per month is more and more commercials. Have you noticed that? The advertisers pay a ton of money to promote their products on cable television. Why? Because they can and
Comcast is allowing them to. Those cost go towards paying for the channel alone just like they do for non-cable channels CBS, NBC and ABC. If we, The United States are still paying for a high price cable television service, why are there still commercials being aired on cable?. Because the generation of cable subscribers has changed over the years and we are being over ruled and taken advantage of by Comcast. Just like Micheal Jackson seducing little boys, Comcast is greatful that
consumers are unaware of their rights as a cable subscriber and lose touch of what is acceptable and unacceptable.

Comcast doesn't want us to know what our rights are. They want us to know what their rights are as a Cable provider. They are a Monopoly taking advantage of consumers and profitting at the same time. It's all about the bottum money line of how much they can profit.

This must change! Either Comcast lower the cost of cable in half and that includes High Speed Internet or they must air less commercials.Comcast want's have their cake and eat it too
leaving for us the bowl to lick.

I have called and complained many of times about the lousy expensive service Comcast provides and each representative has a new excuse each time I call, telling me something different.

For example, They have the right to advertise and interrupt regularly scheduled programming to air a Comcast News Break over the existing CNN segment because some local wanted to promote a product. I paid my bill last month to stay tuned to see what the ending segment was going to be on CNN and it was overrun and cancelled by the Monopoly Comcast because someone paid them a few thousand dollars to trick people into staying tuned in to watch their segment instead. Unfair! Hopefully Comcast will reconsider their position and for Pete Sakes! Stop patting yourself on the back for being #1. Who is your competition in Waterford Michigan? I rest my case.

In addition to Comcast ripping us off. Satellite Radio is the latest service to provide commercial free radio for a subscription of $10-$12.00 a month. I guarentee that advertisement commercials will gradually make their way into this service in the next 10 years. The same thing happened to cable television. If people slack and don't pay attention, they will be taken advantage of just like comcast did to the cable industry.
