Thinking about ordering Cable TV, Internet, or Phone Service from COMCAST?

I urge you to read this first.

I say, RUN FAST!!

I made my initial contact with Comcast Business Class in April of this year to get information and a quote for new service at my new business.

This part went fine, and to tell the truth I was quite impressed with my sales rep who came out to see me. His name is Thomas Waples and he is the ONLY good experience I have had with Comcast.

EVERYTHING else, every step of the way has been a horrible nighmare.

I will address those issues in later reports as they are not as serious as this case of FRAUD and INCOMPETENCE and overal BAD ATTITUDE that I have recieved ibn trying to resolve this current matter.

Here it is.

Last week, I get an email that asks me to review my directory listing for accuracy, and gives a deadline to do so by, and a phone number to call if a correction needs to be made.

My business address - street# is 4380-B.....

They had my business listed at 4380.

The only problem with that is that there is another business right in front of me that is 4380.

I am 4380-B, a separate business entity, and behind 4380.

So, I call the number they gave in the email to make the correction.

I knew I was in bad trouble when I am greeted by someone I cannot understand with the combinatio of the bad headset, phone noise, and the hard east indian accent.

I explain my problem to this person.

No positive result.

He tells me they do not list unit, suite, apt, etc in any basic directory listing!

REALLY????

I told him I am looking at the directory, and see HUNDREDS of such listings.

He says ok, I will escalate this to a manager.

Someone will call you.

I get the call from this "manager" today, and all he wants to do is argue.

Totally unprofessional.

Totally incompetent.

I tell him that I MUST HAVE an accurate street address in my listing as that is what any reasonable person would expect, right?? He cannot comprehend thye fact that people looking for me, or my business will be showing up at 4380 and bothering them.

Not to mention that my business phone# will actually be listed against someone elses business address!

He still doesn't get it, so I hang up on that idiot.

I get my blood pressure down a bit and cool off, and call the main# for customer service, hoping to find an intelligent form of life there.

No luck with that.

I think it was some high school girl.

Totally clueless.

Didn't get it.

I hung up and called my rep.

He apologized profusely, and said he would send off an email and follow up.

He understood the severity of the issue when the last 3 idiots couldn't grasp it.

QUESTION?

Am I off base here, or would any of you like to get your PROPER business address listed in the directory with your business address??

Is that asking too much?

Am I being unreasonable??

PLEASE let me know.

An extortion attempt to sell premium listings and yellow page advertising1

That's all it is. Plain and simple. Extortion. They are trying to force customers into paying for a premium listing and/or yellow page advertising. Comcast is obviously run by a bunch of third graders.

If a "free", "basic listing" includes the company name, company address, and phone#, then HOW could they say that putting your CORRECT business address is against policy? That is just plain stupid.

So anyone without a suite or unit# gets a complete and accurate free basic listing, BUT anyone who has a unit# or suite# does not get that same free basic listing?

Total stupidity. A genuine discriminatory action here against customers.
Discrimination against anyone who doesn't have a stand alone building or unique address.

C'mon Comcast!

PULL YOUR HEADS OUT!!

Clarification on the fraud

#5Author of original report

First of all, they were leaving the "B" off from the start. I had to do like 3 corrections on that alone. The bottom line here is they goofed up and omitted the B, again. They won't admit their mistake so they are claiming they don't put suite or unit numbers in "basic" listings. This is one count of fraud, as they are penalizing me for their mistake.

Now, I get the real truth from another rep. I was told flat out, that if I want my unit number in the listing, I need to purchase yellow pages advertising! That is the fraud, as a blatant "bait and switch" tactic to sell advertising.
I asked very specifically BEFORE signing my 3 year contract whjat was included.

The original customer service/sales rep on the phone told me that I got a basic listing in the business white pages that included my address and phone#. Then, the rep that came out to see me and write up the sales order confirmed that I got a free business white pages listing which is business name, address, and phone.

Comcast has engaged in fraud here and wasted much of my time. Remember, this whole process with Comcast has been one problem after another, prior to this problem. The bottom line here is that the entire Comcast organization is plagued with incompetence and laziness, and they know it! They simply don't care!

It's "take it or leave it" at Comcast. I will leave it.

I have other options as the CUSTOMER. And, I will post all of the other issues with this order and install that led up to this breaking point.
