Complaint Review: Comcast

Comcast Comcast lied to me. Seattle Washington

I was moving and Comcast does not provide service in my new town. I called on March 26 to cancel my service, but asked if I would still be able to access my Comcast email for a while after. I was told by the customer service rep that I would still be able to access my Comcast email for 30 days.
On April 11 I was suddenly not able to download my email. When I called Comcast customer service, and made my way up to talking to a supervisor, he told me that I was misinformed, and that once my internet service was deactivated, that my email account was deleted and could not be activated unless I reinstated my internet service. I said obviously I can't do that because Comcast does not provide service where I am now living, and he said well then we can't reactivate your old email address because it is the protocol. I said well then you should override the protocol because when a representative of your company tells a customer that they will receive something, then it should be the responsibility of the company to provide that to the customer. The supervisor acted like I was making some sort of joke, and then said do you have notes on that conversation?
At that point I knew that they have no integrity because why the hell would I be calling if their CSR did not tell me that I would continue to have access to my email for 30 days? I guess it doesn't matter to them because I am now living someone that Comcast does not serve, so I'm not going to be their customer anyway, but I am just appalled that they will treat their commitments so flippantly and act like promises do not matter if the one making them is giving the wrong information.

Paul file this same report with the BBB

Paul I suggest you file this same report with the BBB , I think the BBB has a lot of questionable practices but they have some limited uses as well. Comcast headquarters in Philadelphia, PA in the last 36 months has had 638 complaints yet it has a A+ rating from the BBB . This probably means they are cooperating with the BBB lose standards and trying to answer and resolve complaints so maybe you can at least give them a hassle of having to go through all that and maybe even get some action ?

Anyways it will help other consumers if you add to the number of complaints, if most of us who got burned by Comcast flied reports with the BBB it could eventually have an effect on their business since it could steer some customers away who are shopping for this type of services when they see the number of complaints. BBB is used a lot to inquire to the reliability of a business it is used a lot more than ripoffreport.com by most people, unfortunately everyone I talk to doesn't even know ripoffreport exist.

I suggest you buy a small digital recorded Olympus makes good ones for about $50.00 and a TELEPHONE RECORDER RECORD ADAPTER to hook to your phone, you can easily then download and store these conversations on your PC. It will be easy to prove your point whenever contesting with these crooked companies . California law says you have to have the consent of the other party to record the conversation, asking for that consent alone may keep these crooks more honest, or if they don't give you that consent then that means get ready you are probably going to get lied to and what they say isn't really reliable.

Read my report on Comcast right under yours :Comcast Pearland/Houston Texas area worst liars I have ever seen Philadelphia Pennsylvania
