I was laid off from the Freight Forwarding industry twice within two years, once in 2001 and then in 2003. In this time I always paid my ComEd bills - sometimes late but they were always paid. And I paid the late payment fees.

Now I am getting back on my feet ComEd has decided to charge me a $95.00 deposit. I called and explained that now I am getting back on my feet I can not afford a $95.00 deposit and pointed out that I have always paid my bills even though the payments were late. I continued to pay my bills after this conversation and not the deposit.

Today I reviewed my latest bill and found that ComEd used my bill payments to pay the $95.00 deposit and that my bills are now past due. And also I am being charged more late payment fees! Numerous conversations on the telephone with the customer service representatives proved futile, and I was told that there is no one else I can talk to. I had to leave a message for a supervisor which I told them was unacceptable service.

ComEd amongst other big business is continually ripping off hard working lower income people, people who can't afford it, for an enourmous amount of money and they need to be stopped.
