Comfort Inn - Choice Hotels ripoff Zero security Yulee Florida
This hotlel had completely unsafe security practices. We checked in on friday afternoon and saturday morn left our room around 9:30 am. We returned around 1:30 pm to shower and dress for a wedding only to find the room had not been cleaned. We had to flag down a housekeeping person to get fresh towels. We left out room at appox. 3 pm and I returned alone around 6 pm to find my room unlocked without a single person in sight. I immediately called the front desk to be told that they leave it open so the housekeeping manager can check the room after house keeping finishes. I was astonished and made it very clear how ridiculous a practice this was. I could have surprised someone ransacking my room and could have been injured. I asked to speak to a manager and of course no one was available. The next morning at checkout I complained again only to be told the manager would call me at home the next day. I am still waiting on that call!!

I am a housekeeping inspector for a well known hotel chain. What some guest doesn't relize when they stay at a hotel is there is other guest there besides them. Where I work the housekeepers are required to do there check outs first then there stay overs so yes it may be late after noon before your room is done. Most hotels don't allow housekeepers to knock on stay over doors till after 10:00. Just a suggestion when you check in to a hotel request that you would like your room clean as early as possible that may help with future stays....
When a housekeeper does a room there is inspector that goes behind but they have a second set of keys for the rooms at no time should a stay over door be left open not even to go down the hall that is not acceptable. What I think has happend is the housekeeping manager was the one that accidently left your door open and she wasn't going to take the blame for that..
As for the hotel manager not calling you back I would go higher up in managment with my compliant keep in mind Comfort Inn is a hotel chain the owners of the hotel only pay to carry the name Comfort so in turn they have to follow the rules that our set out for them if they don't they could loose the name and have to pay for the rest of there contract. So I bet if you would complain to Comfort Inn the corp. it's self you may get somewhere's. Keep in mind you'll probaly want get but a free nights stay out of it..Good Luck
