My husband and I opened a small company in 02 that never went anywhere and was closed a year later. We received a letter from Commerical Investigations, inc. in November 07 stating that our company owed their client, Escobar General Home Maintenance, $4720.00 for services provided in 06 (three years after our company was officially closed). We contacted CI then to dispute- my husband was "disconnected" three times before finally getting through the explanation that we never did any business with Escobar General Home Maintenance. He was told that the matter would be looked into, and someone from CI would call us back.

We did not receive a call until March 7th, at which time Bob Wynn left a message asking us to simply call back. I did some research on CI online before returning the call and discovered several complaints about them on the Better Business Bureau of California as well as on this sight.

I called and spoke with Bob, explaining again that this was not a legitimate claim against us. He was very hostile and rude, especially when I confronted him about all the bad information listed about CI online. He told me, "The better business bureau is for whiners. I suggest that you and the better business bureau go eat a cream puff!". With that, I was hung up on.

I have never been a victim of such blatant fraud before and am hoping this story may help someone else that Commercial Investigations, Inc. or Escobar General Home Maintenance are trying to take advantage of.
