The Communitas Group is displaying a false list of clients and their services performed for these clients in order to try and influence new clients to purchase their services. I know for a fact that at one of the companies on their list does not wish to endorse their company and they have never been clients of Communitas. There request to have their name removed form the list has not been honored. This is false advertising. It is not only unethical, but illegal.

I worked with one of the owners of this company at Standard and Poor's. When he left S&P to form the Communitas Group, he asked me about selling me brother-in-laws products. My brother-in-law owns a number of factors in China. To make a long story short, the Communitas Group found out about an opportunity to sell card readers to Dell. Communitas then headed these negotiations. The process did not go smoothly and we had questions about some of the business practices used by Communitas. In the end, non of it matter because we were not willing to sell at the price that the Communitas Group wanted. End of deal.

Ok, story over, no bid, no selling and we told Communitas that they would be treated as another wholesalers and we would be more then to arrange for them to purchase, for cash, any items they wished to sell.

A few months went by and I thought the story was indeed over, but in searching the web one night, I found a link to a site for Mikona cameras. There in bold letters was Maxbright/Mikona listed as a client of Communitas Group with Communitas claiming that they did selling, market branding and were a distributor for Mikona. I contacted my brother-in-law in law in China and the engineer that runs the Mikona factory. I was told by the engineer that he had been contacted by Communitas about selling their products, but their request was not answered and nothing had been sold to communitas nor had any "deals" been made with them. I was also asked to contact the Communitas Group and ask them to remove any mention of Mikona from the Communitas web site.

As instructed I contacted Communitas via the email address given on their web site. I asked them to remove the Mikona name from their web site. Their reply was "Merry Christmas to you too." Then they blocked my IP address from addressing their web site and refuse to remove the false listing.

On the same subject, Communitas has also listed S&P as their client. To the best of my knowledge, this is not true at the time of this complaint. What I do know is that the services listed as being bought by S&P were related to the job performed by one of the owners of Communitas while employed by S&P. With the exception that he did not do database management. That comes from the name of the department where he worked, DEDM for data extraction and data management. Communitas added the "base" to the word data.

These two examples do not speak well for the Communitas Group. One can draw their own conclusions and I am sure the Communtias Group has excesses, but a lie is hard to justify.
