Community Aid Thrift Store Lancaster Unfair treament of employees, does not operate as a Christian store..question the charitable nature of this store Lancaster pennsylvania
I was very excited to go to work in this Christian thrift store. Boy was I disappointed and frustrated. To start with there is only a 2 minute window for clocking in and out. I have always been a very prompt person but things do happen that could result in being 3 min late for work! Never have I worked anywhere with less than a 5 min window! One very young upbeat young man was yelled out for singing along to a christian xmas song being told it was distracting from his work. The girls get critiques on how many racks they can produce per hour even when the quality of the clothes are bad and their expectations cannot be met! Everyone disappears! Turnover is outrageous! Hours are minimal..only a few(maybe 5) full time employees with the exception of management. No need to pay benefits! As a customer there is a no return plicy! Even Goodwill allows 3 days for returns. I actually thought it was a law that any purchase can be returned within 3 days. I truly question the claims this place makes. It is run as a very pro profit organization. I do not question that some community gifts are made but how many? how much? After reading other critiques I truly question the integrity of the owner. One thing I know for sure is they do not treat their customers in a christianly way!
