I care for my now 1 year old grandson. He was being seen at Community Health center of clearwater. When he was due for his 3rd set of vaccines he was ill with a virus and had a fever. The doctor did nothing for him but want to vaccinate him while he was sick. I told them it was not safe to do so and was told it was fine when they were sick. I work in the Veterinary field and we do not vaccinate animals when sick so why would you do it to your child.

I felt they were condesending towards me . I was also told he would be behind if I didn't do it that day. I told them i would decline them as he was ill and it was not in his best intrest to do vaccines while sick.
I have since asked for his records 2 times to go elseware and the first time was called at home and told his vaccines were expired so I didn't need the record.
Then again I called and told them I needed his record signed by the Dr.

I was again called and asked why did I need them? was it jut for me or anither Dr. or what. I told them I was going to go somewhere else where my grandsons health was first not vaccinations first.

they were very rude but did comply.

I picked up his Florida Certificate of immunization and in the place where the signature is supposed to be was the word EXPIRED in very large print and it was underlined 2 times. I hope that if your children go to this place you have better luck with the Doctors and staff.

It is obviously run by the state and they get some sort of kick back for vaccinations. My grandchilds health comes first and they just didn't care about that.

Maybe if you vaccinated the child on time ...

... he would not be so sickly.

How dare you question the authority of a medical doctor based on your very limited knowledge of whatever you do in the "veterinary field" (aka, kennel cleaner or dog groomer perhaps?) Children are not treated the same house pets. Get over it and take care of the child!!
