i've heard the usual....keep a register...yada-yada-yada!  The fact is Compass BBVA has very "talented" ways for managing my money and transactions.  I no longer trust them to manage my hard-earned dollars provided they dip into my funds anytime they can.

I'm not talking about 1 day's worth of transactions being posted creatively.  They held 4 days worth of transactions and then conveniently posted them UPSIDE DOWN....from day 4 all the way down to day 1.  coincidence?  i think not.

This should be illigal.  If I conducted my business in this manner, i would be out of a job.  it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that their methods are unethical and irresponsible.

compass needs a rude awakening.  the customer service rep said they allow overdrafts in case of emergencies.  Oh, really?  i had emergencies over a 4 day period racking up over 11 nsf fees...should have been 1 at the most 2.

Give me a break.....i would love to take them to court and/or make this transparent to the public via the media.

interested??? contact me directly.

I knew I would have two o/d fees because I checked the balance on my account & had six dollars in there.

- And you don't have a problem with paying the bank 2 overdraft fees?  Or do you not have a problem with the two because they hit you with five.  If you were not hit with the other three, I can almost guarantee you that you would have complained about even those two fees.

Most banks do not do business this way.

- Please post what banks do not post transactions HIGHEST to LOWEST...That's okay..we will wait.

And most banks have a cap on the number of fees they will charge per day!

- Well you are right about that.  But that "cap" can be anywhere from 3 to 10 PER DAY.   Why not try something novel and actually manage your account so you get 0 per day.  How do you mange your account you ask, well the simplest, yes regardless of what some people will say, the simplest is to keep your own register.  Writing down every transaction as you make it.  Then do not spend more money than you have available because you "think" it is okay to use the banks money and only get 2 overdrafts.

There is something else you need to be aware of.  The number of overdrafts in a given amount of time can affect when your deposits are available.  Don't believe me, then perhaps you should look up Regulation CC, where you might find some interesting items.  So intentionally overdrafting can(and probably will) come back to cause you other problems.

Oh and you will probably have others who come here and tell you that you did nothing wrong, that the bank was 100% wrong in doing what they did.  They will even fill your head with a lot of things such as Class Action Lawsuits, legistation changes, and even changes that the banks are doing.  Because of this you will probably ignore any other advise because they are telling you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear.  The down side is that their comments will do nothing to help you avoid these fees in the future.  Especially if you intentionally overdraft.

This is not a standard practice - not all banks do this

I just got hit with five overdraft fees because of this same situation.  I knew I would have two o/d fees because I checked the balance on my account & had six dollars in there.  I made two transactions after that and today, I had five NSF fees on my account.  I called to let them know three were unjustified and they told me, "we pay the biggest items first and then the smaller ones."  I asked why and they had no answer.  And would not reverse the other three fees!

Wow, where have you been the last decade, at least. It's not just Compass, its ALL BANKS.

Yeah, it's unethical, always has been.  Ought to be illegal, you betcha.  News?  Not quite.

Welcome to the grown up world of finances.
