Comprehensive Building Consultants Russell Hensel, Owner Produced error filled Home Inspection Report. Behaved abusively when attempting to discuss inaccuracies Fort Myers Florida
Comprehensive Building Consultants recently conducted a Home Inspection of my residence in Naples, FL and produced a Report which contained numerous inaccuracies.
In an initial contact, by phone, with Russell Hensel, the owner, while he was driving he was quite cordial, and offered to reimburse me for any expenses incurred in determining that he had indeed made errors. and agreed to call me back as soon as he reached his office and could access his copy of the report.
He called me back later and we began our discussion on the "inaccuracies" in his report.
We discussed just two of numerous inaccuracies before he terminated the call
1. Report stated .. Many landscape lights not working
Response .. Our lighting maintenance company inspected
and found 42 of 44 outdoor lights to be working, a direct contradiction of the Report
2. Report stated .. Pool and Spa Heaters not working
Response ... Just days before the Home Inspection our gas appliance service company inspected and certified that both heaters were working. Following the receipt of report an independent pool service company checked and demonstrated both heaters were working normally.
3. I was about to continue with a discussion of his A/C systems report when Mr. Hensel became very agitated and abusive.
He started cursing me using the "f" word extensively. He stated that I could "f"ing sue him if I liked and then hung up the phone.
I would not recommend anyone to retain this company's services

Mr. Robin who was NEVER a consumer, tries to discredit people without beinga consumer and now want to say...we missed ONE item. ONE....we found many many items wrong with his house and he said we missed ONE. Go find a home inspector out there who performs an inspection on a house and misses only ONE item!
Wow, that is an awesome testimony. So he got our report and fixed everything and then sold the house. No crap he sold it after seeing our report. We told him what was wrong with it!
So now people call to discuss home inspection reports in an affluent area while hosting a dinner party....This guy is unreal! What I do know is that we provide a report with photos and he used our report to fix his house that was in poor condition.
Read his own words, he was the seller, he used our report to repair his house and only 1 issue was found that we did not find (supposidly), who knows.
I hope he told the sellers of everything in my report, because I just now obtained permission to let the buyers of his house see the report and if he did not disclose everyting in my report and its wrong, he is legally laible!
Lets see if the new buyers knew everything he supposidly did not disclose.
Once again 32 years in the inspection business and everyone who owns a business knows that there is ONE OF THESE guys every now and then, and here is this guy.
Who has a dinner party and wants to go over a many many issue report in detail at the dinner table....see how this does not pass the smell test?

It is true that I did not pay for the report, it was paid for by the prospective buyer of my house .... but I was the victim of his report and its numerous inaccuracies. I lost the deal as a result of the inaccurate report.
The telephone conversation with Mr. Hensel occurred during a dinner party at my house, was on my speaker phone and overheard by my guests and all clearly heard the "f" words he used.
After a witness confirmed the conversation with my broker, I am happy to say that, her brokerage company, perhaps the largest in Naples, no longer recommends Mr. Hensel's company and news of his conversation has likely been spread throughout the realtors' grapevine
It also cost me over $1000 to have the inaccuracies disproved by independent tradesmen and inspectors.
However, all ended well ... a month later I accepted a higher offer, the home inspection report this time found none of the "false" deficiencies of Mr. Hensel's report but did find one that Mr. Hensel missed completely! ... But one I was able to correct.
My broker has in her possession both Mr. Hensel's report and that of the subsequent inspection ...
At the end of the inspection, the subsequent inspector advised the buyer, within my broker's hearing, that the house was both very well built and well maintained.

Was never a consumer!

First and foremost be aware that this person was never, ever a client of mine and how they can post on a CONSUMER site is beyond me. He even admits that he was not a consumer! Reporting on this site means absolutely no account of anything being accurate or even the person being a consumer! How crazy is that? Of course this site can help repair my reputation for $2,000, see where this is going. Look for yourself and see.
Mr. Robin has been trying to place blame on me and my company for his house being in poor condition and he is mad that I found the many defects that were present within the report.
Lets take them, as I see them. He called my office and lied about who he was. After admitting he lied I had to go look at the report because he said he had "a question". So I went to the office and opened his report and called him back. If I was going to ignore him and brush him off, why would I call him back?
He then proceeded to ask me about each and every defect in his home, which was MANY. He wasn't even there for the inspection! How does he know what we found? Because he listens to the people who have been ripping him off for years.
Example, if I charged you $400 for making sure your landscape light work, what do you think is going to say when presented that it's wrong? My reports are inclusive of many many photographs and water was in the drip pan, breakers were wrong etc...
So then he tried to get me to go over every detail in my report, which BY CONTRACT I am not permitted to do. I thought the guy just had "a" question, and now he wants me to spend hours on the phone to provide details of my work to a person who did not pay for it.
I then abruptly told him this was against my contract with the person who actually paid for my services and hung up the phone.
If your a small business owner, just like us. Having been in this business for over 32 years, you know that there is absolutely no way to make everyone happy. But, in this case, is a person who was never my client and was NEVER A CONSUMER and these people show up, write down crap and want to bully you into giving them money.
If your looking for a Home Inspection Company, who apparently finds many defects, then this is proof that sellers don't like us because we find many many defects with a home that others do not.
If there is anyting you need, do not hesitate to call us. If you want proof of what I am saying, go look at our website and report, how can I manufacture the wrong breakers and water in drain pans. I have PHOTOS as the proof!
I just chaulk this up to a person, in this climate, feels the need to be vindicated even when wrong and after 32 years, this is that guy!
God Bless and take care
