Prometric will authorize any company to be a testing center for computer certification. WATCH OUT. YOU MAY HAVE AN EXPERIENCE SIMILAR TO MINE.

At the above mentioned site the receptionist/proctor could not enter my name and address and credit card into the computer by himself. He was the only person on site, and I eventually had to walk him through the process. He kept making errors and this process took 45 minutes!

Next I sat down to take my exam. The monitor was flashing on and off during the entire test. To say this least this did not help me to perform my best on a test I had was well prepared for (industry experience/earned a diploma from a Cisco Networking Academy with an A average/studied supplemental material). As I neared the end of the test the computer shut down and restarted on the "start" screen. The proctor checked the files and it was recorded that I had not started yet! Another 45 minutes passed and I was able to answer the remaining questions. 50 questions. The passing score was 849. I got an 847. No doubt in part due to the hell I had gone through.

I called Prometric and they basically said there was nothing they could do, that their "authorized testing centers" were independent buisnesses. I couldn't get any of my money back or a voucher to retake the test when they had equipment that worked properly.

Waste of my time and $125.00.

PLEASE, if you are going to take a certification exam thru Prometric visit the testing site first and make sure the equipment works and the receptionist/proctor knows his or her job.

The Computer Networking Gym and Prometric don't give a d**n about thier customers. You have been warned!

I am working on my MCSE so I am forced to use Prometric to take my exams. So far I have sat for 5 exams. 4 of them I took at a local tech school and all 4 times something has gone wrong!

I took my first test, managed to complete the test, but it crashed during the comments section. The test couldn't be restarted and I had to sit on the phone for over an hour with prometric candidate support, and I had to wait for 3 days before I got to find out if I passed or failed, and never got a score report. Luckily, I passed.

During my second test, it froze up for about 5 minutes loading a question. They moved me to another computer, and again it crashed after my last question. Another hour with tech support, another 3 days waiting for their website to show my result, this time I failed. Fortunately I had a free retake special, so two weeks later I was back, and this time it crashed hard in the middle of my test. After over an hour they decided to let me reschedule, and I retook the test at a prometric-owned center. Everything worked flawlessly and I got my results and a score report immediately.

Microsoft offered the free second shot deal again, and I got a deal on the voucher too, but it expired the 31st and the only center open was the local tech school. I took my test on the 29th, and lo and behold, managed to get all the way through the test without any problem. The computer said I managed a passing score, but apparantly something went wrong, because no score report was printed. The center was really busy, and it took 2 hours for the guy at the desk to talk to prometric and resolve absolutely nothing. Today is Jan 5th and my status still says pending. I just got off the phone with Prometric and they say give us another 48 hours. Prometric blames the testing center, the testing center blames Prometric, and I've lost almost a day worth of time sitting around waiting for score reports that never come!

If anyone knows of any way to get a complaint through to Prometric, let me know. For well over $600 I expect a little better service than I would get at a McDonalds - at least there I get what I pay for about 75% of the time.
