Complaint Review: Computer Systems Institute CSI

Computer Systems Institute CSI deceptive, fraudulent, underhanded, false advertising, dishonest Skokie Illinois

An alledged Information Technology Training School that makes promises to supply it's students with the latest in hands-on training and instead gives them virtual labs as a substitute their students never setup actual servers or workstations for production use! Everything at CSI is geared toward fattening the pockets of CSI and it's staff members while leaving the students short changed. Students are promised the use of on demand learning and then find out that's only for cash paying students and not the students who use the FAFSA program! What a ripoff!

They deploy workstations for the students to use in classrooms but do not allow them to build or work on the very workstations they have to use. (now how's that for hands on?) Students are promised a computer to take home that they themselves have built and the students never see it. The instructors are the best part of the training because they try to supply their students with the proper skills and are sometimes hammered for the effort, paying for tools and equipment out of their own pockets while training 2-3 classes at a time and not being able to give the one on one time that they are promised when the sign the dotted line! they use the element-K web site and don't use element-k books and literature, the element-k web site don't work right and if the student leaves to do the element-K stuff elsewhere they are penalised for it by an entire day being taken from them, the books that are issued to students are usually the wrong books! and the list goes on! And if a student complains they are talked to as if they are children and don't know what they are talking about!

Some students get so lost and dishearted they even stop coming for a time and come back because they have gotten in debt up to their eyeballs and have no place else to go and no one to talk to for help! Someone should be regulating and monitoring places that offer services and training for those who must use student loans and grants and make sure the students are getting exactly what they are getting into debt for!

Hello.  I am contacting you regarding your post above about Computer Systems Institute (CSI). I work with attorneys who are engaged in a lawsuit against CSI.  As part of our investigation, we would like to talk to students who have attended/are attending CSI as well as former employees of CSI.  If you are willing to speak with us about your experience, please send your name and phone number to caseinfo@lawmbg.com and we will contact you. I went to the Chicago campus and must say that it was one of the biggest rip-offs.

I feel like I wasted $11,500 to receive certifications that would have taken $2500 for me to complete on my own.

Very little instruction - due to the fact that the instructors must handle multiple modules at once.

Very few hands-on labs.

Very few lectures.

They just sit you down in front of the electonic babysitter (ElementK) all day long and then get all pissy when you complain about it.
