Brian Spencer contacted my wife's cell phone from a 407 574 8358 number at 9:30 am Saturday morning to inform her that she had a disconnect notice from Con Edison scheduled for 12 noon the same day. He provided my wife's Con Edison account number and a full report of her bill payments. Then he stated that she could avoid service interruption by providing a $200 payment.

The payment could not be done over the phone but she needed to purchase a Green Dot Money card from CVS and call them back with the scratch off number on the back. My wife ask to speak to a supervisor and she was transfered to David Spencer who assured my wife of the disconnection notice and billing methods. David Spencer proceeded by providing my wife with a 718 616 8764 number to contact once she had the Green Dot Money serial number to make the payment.

My wife and I were not comfortable with the methods and information that was provided to use so we proceeded to contact Con Edison through the number provided by our original billing correspondence. At this point the Con Edison representative that answered our call assure us that their was no dissconnection or service interruption scheduled for our account and further more Con Edison does not schedule service interruption on weekends. My wife and I have made a full report to Con Edison and they are going to investigate the matter.
